II. Setting
While the sun is burning away from the mountain gray, the place happened inside the house
where there is chaos in every part of it. Everyone in the house are noisy and all are having a crazy,
routine-less mess of morning.
III. Characters
Mother – the one who eventually got tired and overwhelmed of all the chaos that is happening in
their house and attempted to kill herself. “I am most glad to be alive, to wait the afternoon through
and eat my meals if only grudgingly, suffer the coming of nightfall and view through the
kaleidoscope of domesticity the face of Nick.”
Nick - lover-child-father, husband, pillar and foundation, circus strongman, eternal enemy and
beloved.
Dinky, Bikini and Mocha – the children
Martha - mother's friend that changes her identities with her numerous wigs and minidresses.
IV. Climax of the Story & Resolution
Climax
The mother was tired of everything. She was about to kill herself. Questioning herself if
she did any wrongdoings to experience and put her in that kind of situation.
Solution
She realized that killing herself was never an answer and should be never be an option. Her
children appreciate how blessed they are to have a mother like her. She was glad to be alive and
promise that she will never do that again when she experienced difficulties and disappointments.
V. Theme
Everything is a story of a mother who is having a hard time to control everything in their
house especially when problems occur, they need to be the strongest person to hold back for her
children rely on her. There was also an issue of giving up which leads to attempt of suicide in time
of her difficulties and disappointments.
