    Buyayawon Bridge – Defect Observations (Not in Punch List)


    • Severe spalling/delamination/efflorescence at North pile cap
    • Hairline cracks observed on deck soffit. Inspection recommended
    • Cracking on abutment sloped lining
    • Flooding does not appear to be a problem at this site anymore

    • In-depth assessment of Bugas Bridge to be performed As Soon


    As Possible by a Registered Structural/Bridge Engineer. Restrict
    further loading over steel plate cover.

    • Provide Rapid Visual Survey of bridges along the SNRDP prior to


    end of DNP, to capture any additional defects not in Punch List.
    Survey shall be performed by a Registered Structural/Bridge
    Engineer. GET INVOLVED BEFORE DNP ENDS!!

    • Typical expansion joint defects shall be repaired on bridges


    (Punch List Item).

    • Revisit bridge Quality Assurance concerns & recommendations

    Failed pavement approx. 3 m square.


    Saturated subgrade observed. Standing water in earth swale adjacent
    to the failure.

    i. Recommendations
    • Pattern observed in recent pavement failures point to
    pavement areas saturaded with subsurface water. Recommend
    investigating all areas with known or observed water issues
    under and in the vicinity of the carriageway to determine
    adequacy of the drainageway to remove suface and subsurface
    water away from the carriageway in an expedicous manner.
