    Problem:

    A helicopter, or chopper, is a type of rotorcraft in which lift and thrust are supplied by
    rotors. This allows the helicopter to take off and land vertically, to hover, and to fly forward,
    backward, and laterally. The usual speed of a helicopter runs at 160 miles per hour. The
    helicopter's average speed is affected by many things including the size of the chopper and
    what or who is on board at the time. If the helicopter ran for 160 miles per hour, how many
    kilometres will it go in a second?

    Solution:

    The fastest way to convert miles per hour to kilometers per hour is to use this simple
    formula:
    km/h = mph × 1.609344
    The speed in kilometers per hour is equal to the speed in miles per hour multiplied by
    1.609344. Since one mile per hour is equal to 1.609344 kilometers per hour, that's the
    conversion ratio used in the formula.
    kph = mph * 1.609344
    kph = 160 * 1.609344
    kph = 257.4950

    To convert a kilometer per hour measurement to a kilometer per second measurement,


    divide the speed by the conversion ratio. One kilometer per second is equal to 3,600
    kilometers per hour, so use this simple formula to convert:

    kilometers per second = kilometers per hour ÷ 3,600


    km/sec = 257.4950 ÷ 3,600
