GRADE 3
I. OBJECTIVES :
At the end of the lesson, the pupils should be able to;
a. Identify the different weather conditions.
b. Understand the effects of weather as they relate to daily activities.
c. Illustrate the different types of weather conditions.
A. DEVELOPMENTAL ACTIVITIES
A. Preparatory Activities
2. Review
What are the different bodies of water than can be found in your community?
3. Motivation/Presentation
1. Let’s have a group game, entitled “Tap! Tap! Who’s there?”
Instruction: Divide the class into two groups. Each group must choose 2 numbers from 1
to 4. The hidden picture that corresponds to the number they picked will be the one they must
guess.
Give one number and I will remove the tile covering the image, the less tile removed, the
higher the score is.
B. Activity Proper
1. Play a video about weather conditions; let the pupils sing along as they take down notes of
the things that they saw on the video.
2. Group the pupils into four. Distribute a bond paper to each group and ask them to draw the
things that they have observed in the sky as presented in the video.
3. After the activity, ask your pupils to recall and draw as much as they can from the video.
Give them 3 minutes to draw: Ask the group to paste their work on the board.
Base on the drawing of this, what could be the things that we see in the sky if it is
a sunny day? (sunny)
Base on the drawing of this group, we have here dark clouds and falling rain,
what type of weather condition could it be? (rainy)
Base on the drawing of this group, we have here a wind and flown leaves, what
type of weather condition could it be? (windy)
And if there are plenty of clouds, what weather does it shows? (cloudy)

If the sun is shining, the air is warm, and the wind is weak, it is a sunny day.
If the sun cannot be seen, clouds are slightly dark or clear, and the rain is falling, it is
a rainy day.
When the sun is shining, clouds are slightly dark or clear, and the air is blowing hard,
it is a windy day.
When the sun is not seen and there are plenty of slightly clouds, yet the rain is not
falling, it is a cloudy day.
