IIT-JEE

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
• The candidate must have passed their 10+2 examinations from a recognized board.
• The candidate can appear in the Joint Entrance Exam two times only, that also should be in
consecutive years.
• The candidate must be physically fit for the course for which they have applied.
• The candidates who will be giving their final examinations of 10+2 in 2011 are also eligible to
apply.
IMPORTANT DATES (Tentative)
• Sale of Application form: mid of 3rd week of November, 2010.
• Last date for the receipt of completely filled Application forms (through post): mid week of
December, 2010.
• Last date for the receipt of completely filled Application forms (at IIT’s): end of 3rd week of
December, 2010.
• Date of Joint Entrance Exam: 2nd week of April, 2011.
• Declaration of Result: mid week of May, 2011.

EXAMINATION PATTERN:
• There will be two sections in the entrance exam, each comprising of questions from Physics,
Chemistry and Mathematics.
• All the questions will be Multiple Choice Type (MCQ)
• Negative marking scheme will be followed in the checking of examinations.
• The candidate can opt for question paper in any of the language viz. English or Hindi.

Union Public Service commission (UPSC) conducts an entrance exam for National Defence
Academy. National Defence Academy is a premier institute for joint training of the three wings
of Indian Defence Services: Army, Navy & Air Force before cadets go for their pre-commission
training to their respective academies. Getting in NDA is considered to be highly prestigious for
any candidate. Since the defence services are highly demanding the entrance process is quite
long and tough to get only the most suitable candidates.
Admission to NDA is conducted twice a year. The admission process includes a written
examination, multiple round interviews, Group Tasks and a Medical Test. There are about 350
vacancies for which the entrance is conducted and a large number of candidates from across the
India appear for NDA exam therefore getting selected in considered really tough.
Eligibility Criteria:
Candidate must have cleared 10+2 education level. Those candidates who are currently studying
in 12th class can also apply for the entrance examination. For Navy and Air Force candidates
should have had Physics & Mathematics in Class 12th. Also a candidate must be more than 16 &
1/2 years and less than 19 years of age as on 1st January, 2011. Additionally a candidate must be
physically and medically fit according to the specified requirements.

• Release of Notification: from October 3rd week, 2009
• Last date of submission of application form: November 3rd week, 2009
• Date of Examination: April 3rd week, 2010

Availability of Application Forms:
All UPSC Exams have a common form where a candidate has to choose the exam he/she has
applied for. UPSC forms are available in various designated post offices throughout the country.
Pattern of Examination:
Written Examination will be divided into 2 papers:
Mathematics-300 marks.
General ability Test- 600 marks.
Both the papers will be of 150 minutes duration.
General Ability Test is further divided in two parts: English:200 marks & General Knowledge:
400 marks. General Knowledge had questions from Physics, Chemistry, General Science, Social

Scheme for NDA Written Exam
The candidates who clear the written test are called for multiple round interview, group tasks and
Medical Test. All these processes are to judge the candidate’s ability to check whether he/she is
suitable for Indian Defence Services.

All India Engineering/Architecture Entrance Entrance Examinations (AIEEE) is amongst the


famous exams for admission in engineering/architecture bachelor courses throughout most of the
leading engineering/architecture institutes across the country. Therefore AIEEE is the most
popular engineering Entrance examination for BE/BTech aspiring students across the country.
Every year a huge number of students from all over the country participate in this exam to get
admission in the various reputed NIT’s and state level institutes. Last time nearly 9 lakhs
students appeared for AIEEE exam.
Institutes under this examination:
Admissions in all the National Institute of Technology (NITs) as well as most of the state level
institutes and private institutes are through AIEEE. These institutes have fixed number of seats
for the applicants and the competition is quite tough.
Availability of forms:
All India Engineering Entrance exam form will be distributed from the beginning of the month
of December. Students can collect the application form from the different centers mainly in
various Syndicate banks in various parts of the country.
Popularity of the exam:
All India Engineering Entrance Exam is recommended and considered to be highly competitive
exam for those aspiring to get admission in NITs or other top colleges. Therefore students start
preparing for it much before the actual entrance examination. AIEEE is conducted by Central
Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) therefore the syllabus of AIEEE is from CBSE class 11th
and 12th syllabus.
Application Forms Availability for AIEEE 2011
Application forms for AIEEE 2011 are expected to be available in first week of December till
first week of January in designated branches of Syndicate bank, CBSE Regional Offices and
certain institutions. Form can also be requested by sending a demand draft to AIEEE Unit,
CBSE. A notification is issued in all leading national dailies for the availability of forms.
Candidates can also apply online, fill the information and send the printout to AIEEE office.

Date of Examination: last week of April, 2011
Date of availability of forms: 3rd week of December, 2010 to 1st week of January, 2010
Last date for receipt of request for form: end of December, 2010
Last date for receipt of completed application form: 2nd week of January, 2011

Declaration of results: on or before 1st week of June, 2011
Dispatch of Score cards: mid-end of June, 2011

Eligibility Criteria for AIEEE Exam:
For admission through AIEEE a candidate needs to pass in Class 12th. A candidate can only
appear for AIEEE 2011 if he/she has passed/appearing class 12th in 2008, 2010 or 2011. Those
who want to appear for BE/BTech entrance should compulsory have Physics and Mathematics in
class 12th and at least one of the subjects among Chemistry, Biotechnology, Computer Science
or Biology. Those appearing for architecture courses should have Mathematics in class 12th with
at least 50% marks aggregate. Besides a candidate’s date of birth should be on or after 1st
October, 1985

Pattern of examination:
BE/BTech: Entrance examination is of 3 hours having objective questions from Physics,
Chemistry and Mathematics with equal weightage given to each subject. Each question will have
four options. There is a negative marking of 1/4th marks also for incorrect answers.
B.Arch/B.Planning: Entrance examination will be of 3 hours having three parts: Mathematics,
Aptitude test and Drawing test. While Mathematics and Aptitude test will have objective
questions, drawing test will have questions to check the drawing aptitude of a student.

Minimum percentage of marks in QE: candidates belonging to GE, OBC and DS categories must secure at
least 60% marks and candidates belonging to SC, ST and PD categories must secure at least 55% marks in
aggregate in the qualifying examination

How TO Apply
The Information given below is based on IIT JEE 2010 Exam Notification. Details regarding the application
process will be published in leading national dailies and employment news/rozgar samachar on Saturday,
30th October, 2010

Application procedure: A candidate can submit application either on-line through internet or off-line through
prescribed (OMR) application form.

(a) On-line: For on-line submission of applications, visit any of the websites given below and carefully follow
the instructions given therein. The students can pay the application fee through credit and debit cards of
major banks or through challan of selected banks. The reduced examination fee for on-line mode is Rs. _____
for SC/ST/PD/female candidates and Rs. 900/- for all other candidates.

(b) Off-line: A candidate can buy an application form with Information Brochure from any one of the
designated branches of banks by paying Rs. 500/- for SC/ST/PD/Female candidates (light green envelope) or
Rs. 1000/- for all other candidates (light blue envelope). This includes the examination fees. The information
brochure contains details regarding application procedure, syllabus of JEE, examination centres, and courses
available at various institutions, counseling, fee structure and other relevant information about JEE-2010
