Tie a yellow ribbon ‘round the ole oak tree

Supplies

Cotton in 3 shades of green, brown and yellow

Hook size 2.5 mm

Chenille stems

Fibre fill

Cardboard

Yarn needle

Abbreviations

CH – Chain

SLST – Slipstitch

SC – Single Crochet

HDC – Half Double Crochet

DC – Double Crochet

TR – Triple Crochet

SCDEC - Single Crochet Decrease

FPSC – Front Post Single Crochet

FPSC - Yarn over, insert hook from front to back to front around post of corresponding stitch below,
yarn over and pull up loop, yarn over and draw through all loops on hook.

Note:

Always do your SC in next st after a FPSC, never in the same st.

If it says “SC in next 5st, FPSC (on top of FPSC of previous round)” but there are only 4 st in between,
you’ll need to start the FPSC in the 5th st you made to make sure FPSC is on top of FPSC of previous
round. So basically you will have 2 st in one.

It’s ok to miss a st or to lose count now and then. A tree is an organism, so it doesn’t have straight
lines or perfect curves. It will make your tree unique and beautiful.

Line up bottom with bottom part of tree and SC all around to close bottom of tree, fill up tree as you
