INTRODUCTION
This section contains a brief background regarding to the Work

Immersion in the K-12 Curriculum including the Objectives of Work

Immersion, Values and Attributes of a Student in a Work Immersion, the

workplace, the activity report, and the reflection.

Work Immersion is one of the course requirements for graduation. A

Senior High School student has to undergo Work Immersion that directly

relates to the student’s postsecondary goal. Senior High school students

specifically Grade 12 are mandated to take a Work immersion that will apply

to their knowledge about Work Ethics. The work immersion will train and

strengthen the student\s skills and also their knowledge. According to the

Department of Education, this program is an 80-hour hands-on encounter

which Senior High Students must experience to open them to the genuine

working environment setting that will improve their abilities learned in

school. Department of Labor and Employment stated that, work immersion is

an integral part of the K to 12 Program in fully realizing its goal to produce

job-ready graduates equipped with industry- based skills. Work Immersion

programs are course that will enable the senior high students to decide if what

they have chosen in school is what they want to have as a career. Being able S
E
to test their skills and knowledge in practice will help them develop their N
I
career choice. These training programs was initiated to enlighten and give O
R
direction to the Senior High students regarding what is really essential and
H
important upon entering the workplace in any field they will choose to be in I

OBJECTIVES OF WORK IMMERSION

The Work Immersion Program is one the course requirements for

graduation. : The purpose of the program with aptitude, competence,

awareness in the real workplace and to develop skills relevant to the student’s

specialization. The said program had given the students sufficient time to be

familiar with the regular work setting and so as train themselves as normal

employees. A Senior High School student has needed to undergo work

immersion in a business organization or establishment with work

requirements related to their specialization. Through work immersion, the

students are exposed to and be familiarized with the work related to their field

of specialization. Specifically, the students are able to

● Gain and demonstrate relevant and practical industrial skills under

the guidance of industry experts and workers.

● Appreciate and apply the etiquette, principles and ethics in Work

Immersion that has been taught.

● Strengthen and increase the knowledge about Communication and

Technical Skills.

VALUES AND ATTRIBUTES OF A STUDENT IN A WORK

IMMERSION

● Adaptable
In a work environment, there are dynamic activities and processes. Be ready to
accept change. For an instance, due to lack of budget, you were assigned to find
sponsorship for a marketing event. You might want to learn how to network and
how to negotiate in the process of asking for sponsorship.

● Honesty and Integrity

When working for an employer they want to know that they can trust what you
say and what you do. It is the responsibility of each person to use their own
individual sense of moral and ethical behavior when working with and serving
others within the scope of their job.

● Self – Confidence
Self-confidence has been recognized as the key ingredient between someone
who is successful and someone who is not. A self – confident person is
someone who inspires others. A self-confident person is not afraid to ask
questions on topics where they feel they need more knowledge. They feel
little need to have to impress others with what they know since they feel
comfortable with themselves and don’t feel they need to know everything.
● Professional
Even though you are just a student in a work immersion, it would be great to
exhibit professionalism. Come to meetings and work on time. Dress up properly.
Watch your language. Comply with company policies.
S
● Responsible E
N
In a work environment, there are targets to be achieved on a daily or monthly
I
basis. As such, it is important to do your part in the whole process. Ensure that O
R
you deliver your work with quality, commitment
H
● Remarkable Work Ethics I
Work ethics is the set of work principles you live by. Show to your colleagues and G
H
supervisors that you are dedicated to your job in the immersion. Avoid
S
C
complaining about tasks given to you. Be honest. Avoid giving excuses. Do not
H
O
submit sloppy work. Stay focused on what need to be done.

Hard work, Besides of being a guindance counselor they are teachers who have L

Punctual, Its very important that you are on time.

OVERALL REFLECTION AND SELF-APPRAISAL

I'm glad that i experience work at guidance office and to have kindhearted

supervisors that i gain knowledge every day. That all the learnings may i

applied in the job i choose. I see my self as of now that improved my

communication skills, perspective in life, and approach to people.

SUGGESTIONS AND RECOMMENDATION

As a student/immersionist I think it’s good to have an orientation

where they’ll tackle about the work immersion place, right ethics as well as

Do’s And Don’ts, to be prepared in their workplace. I recommend that in

every workplace that the student’s will deployed shall have a connection in

their specialization. It helps them improve their selves and make them easily

decide what they really want in their near future.
