INTRODUCTION TO VISUAL STUDIO 2010

On 12 April 2010, Microsoft released Visual Studio 2010,

codenamed Dev10 and .NET Framework 4.
The Visual Studio 2010 IDE was redesigned which, according
to Microsoft, clears the UI organization and "reduces clutter
and complexity. The new IDE better supports multiple
document windows and floating tool windows, while offering
better multi-monitor support. The IDE shell has been rewritten
using the Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), whereas
the internals have been redesigned using Managed
Extensibility Framework (MEF) that offers more extensibility
points than previous versions of the IDE that enabled add-ins
to modify the behaviour of the IDE.
Microsoft Visual Studio is an integrated development
environment (IDE) from Microsoft. It is used to
develop computer programs for Microsoft Windows, as well
as web sites, web apps, web services and mobile apps. Visual
Studio uses Microsoft software development platforms such
as Windows API, Windows Forms, Windows Presentation
Foundation, Windows Store and Microsoft Silverlight. It can
produce both native code and managed code.
Like any other IDE, it includes a code editor that
supports syntax highlighting and code
completion using IntelliSense for variables, functions, methods,
loops and LINQ queries. IntelliSense is supported for the
included languages, as well as for XML and for Cascading Style
Sheets and JavaScript when developing web sites and web
applications.[20][21]Autocomplete suggestions appear in
a modeless list box over the code editor window, in proximity
of the editing cursor. In Visual Studio 2008 onwards, it can be
made temporarily semi-transparent to see the code obstructed
by it.[19] The code editor is used for all supported languages.
INTRODUCTION TO MS-ACCESS

Microsoft Access is a Database Management System

(DBMS) from Microsoft that combines the relational Microsoft
Jet Database engine with a Graphical User Interface and
software development tools. It is a member of Microsoft Office
suite of applications, included in the Professional and higher
editions or sold separately. It can also import or link directly to
data stored in other applications and databases.
Software developers, data architects and power users can
use MS-Access to develop application software. Like other MS-
Office applications, Access is supported by Visual Basic for
Applications, an object-based programming language that can
reference a variety of objects including Data Access Objects.
In addition to using its own database storage file, MS-
Access also may be used as the ‘front-end’ of a program while
other products act as ‘back-end’ tables, such as MS-SQL Server
and non-Microsoft products such as Oracle and Sybase.
MS-Access applications can be made secure by various
methods, the most basic being password access control; this is
a relatively weak form of protection. A higher level of
protection is the use of work group security requiring a user
name and password.
INTERIOR DESIGNING SYSTEM

Introduction:

The present system manages the interior designing system.

The system maintains details about all the settings, customer
services, transactions, billings and also the stock maintained by
the business. The system accepts the information of a new
customer. Also the system maintains records of the previous
customers.

The system maintains reports regarding the customer bill,

supplier bill and the report of the service provided. The
information and attributes of all the entities like staff,
customer, item/product, supplier is stored.
Features and Advantages:
1. To overcome the difficulties and constraints that are in the
present manual system, one can say that the computerized
system can solve many problems to a certain event.

2. This project uses VISUAL BASIC.NET as front end and

Oracle 10g as backend. This system contains different tables
in which the corresponding data will be stored.

3. Computerizing will automate the INTERIOR DESIGNING

SYSTEM and the customer will be served more efficiently and
correctly.

4. The system also maintains the description of the supplier,

item and so on, electronically in a database which can be
accessed anytime anywhere. This will decrease a lot of time
in identifying the details of the manually.

5. The system gives every department a unique identity so

that they can be easily identified.

6. Automated computerized system will decrease manual

work to some extent and improve work performance.

7. There is also a provision for producing reports that

management needs for planning and control.

8. It is easy and faster way to access the database. So, the

computerized system will provide an easy way to
communicate and operate with the data flexibility without
any stress of the paper work that is used in the present
working system. It will also be minimum prone to errors, as
the system does all the calculations and transaction process.
Disadvantages or Limitations:
1. Difficulty in preserving large amount of data.
2. Difficult process.
3. Inconsistency and redundancy.
4. Data Insecurity.

FEASIBILITY STUDY

Introduction to Feasibility:
A feasibility study aims to objectively and rationally uncover
the strengths and weaknesses of an existing business or proposed
venture, opportunities and threats present in the environment,
the resources required to carry through, and ultimately the
prospects for success. In its simplest terms, the two criteria to
judge feasibility are cost required and value to be attained.
A well-designed feasibility study should provide a historical
background of the business or project, a description of the
product or service, accounting statements, details of the
operations and management, marketing research and policies,
financial data, legal requirements and tax obligations. Generally,
feasibility studies precede technical development and project
implementation.
A feasibility study evaluates the project's potential for success;
therefore, perceived objectivity is an important factor in the
credibility of the study for potential investors and lending
institutions. It must therefore be conducted with an objective,
unbiased approach to provide information upon which decisions
can be based.
Technical feasibility-
This assessment is based on an outline design of system
requirements, to determine whether the company has the
technical expertise to handle completion of the project. When
writing a feasibility report.
The system must be evaluated from the technical point of
view first. Thus assessment of this visibility must be based on
outline design of system requirement in term of input, output,
programs and procedures. Having identified an outline system the
investigation must go on to suggest the type of equipment,
required method developing the system of running the system
once it has been designed.
Economic feasibility-
The purpose of the economic feasibility assessment is to
determine the positive economic benefits to the organization that
the proposed system will provide. It includes quantification and
identification of all the benefits expected. This assessment
typically involves a cost/ benefits analysis.
The developing system must be justified be cost and benefit.
Criteria to ensure that effort must be justified by cost and benefit.
SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE
REQUIREMENTS

SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS:

 Operating System:
The operating system such as Windows XP, Windows
Vista, Windows98, etc is most suitable for the usage of
Interior Designing System.

 MS-Access:
Microsoft Office Access is a database management
system from Microsoft that combines the relational
Microsoft Jet Database Engine with a graphical user
interface and software development tools. Access is
supported by Visual Basic for Applications, an object
oriented programming language that can reference a
variety of object including DAO (Data Access Objects),
ActiveX Data Objects and many other ActiveX
components. Visual objects used in forms and reports
expose their methods and properties in the VBA
programming environment.

 Visual Basic.Net:
It is required for the user to interact with the system.
Microsoft visual basic.net provides efficient way to the
user can easily use the system.
Hardware Requirement:
 Minimum Requirements-
1. RAM 128 megabytes.
2. Processor 533 MHz(PI)
3. Hard Disk 10 Gigabytes.

 Recommended Requirements-
1. RAM more than 265mb.
2. Intel or P4 Processor.
3. Hard Disks 40 Gigabytes.
4. Speed of processor higher than 1.6 GHz.
FACT FINDING TECHNIQUES

Fact Finding is the formal process of using research,

interviews, questionnaires, and other techniques to collect
information about systems, requirements, and preferences. It
is also called information gathering or data collection.
Fact-finding used throughout the database application
lifecycle. Crucial to the early stages including database
planning, system definition, and requirements collection and
analysis stages. Enables developer to learn about the
terminology, problems, opportunities, constraints,
requirements, and priorities of the organization and the users
of the system.
A database developer normally uses several fact-finding
techniques during a single database project including:
•examining documentation
•interviewing
•observing the organization in operation
•research
•questionnaires

FUTURE ENHANCEMENTS

There is always a room for management and the

software we created always can be improved. This is
especially because we had to create the software in limited
period of time the software can be improved to have more
security. Further, the software can also be improved in
terms of calculations, data acceptance and feasibility.
Although we tried to be as through as possible in the
implementation of our project but there were a large
number of features we could not implement due to lack of
time or other reasons. The project has covered almost all
the requirements. Further requirements and improvements
can easily be done since the coding is mainly structured or
modular in nature.
