World music culture refers to the various types of music influenced by different cultures around the globe. Each culture has its own form of music enjoyed by people of all ages. Japan in particular has a rich music culture, with certain types characterizing its culture since ancient times. Foreign music first came to Japan in the 7th century from Korea, and other countries' music later blended with Japanese traditions, creating new styles. Western music arrived in the 19th century and inspired Japanese composers to incorporate Western styles.

“What do you understand about World Music Culture?”

Music has and always will affect the culture of the world. With the advancements of
technology, culture continues to change rapidly, and music will always connect the people of the
world and share a special aspect of each culture with one another. Every culture in the world has
its own form of music that is enjoyed by all ages on every continent. In my opinion, World
Music Culture is the various types of music around the globe which are influenced by different
cultures. Thus, different cultures create different kinds and genres of music. Japan is one of the
countries with a very rich music culture, and there have been certain types of Japanese music that
characterize its culture since ancient times. Foreign music first came to Japan in the seventh
century. ‘Gigaku’, a masked character, was brought to Japan by a Korean man. Other countries’
music then came to Japan, blending Japanese traditional dance and music, creating ‘Gagako’,
court music in the eight century. Western music came to Japan in the nineteenth century and
many Japanese musicians used Western and European music styles in their compositions.
Therefore, there were great classical musicians and composers from Japan such as Minoru Miki.
