Project 1
In today’s society people tend to forget how they’re doing with their life emotionally and
physically. I think I am emotionally happy but not physically happy, I have forgotten to care of my well
being with eating unhealthy foods not taking the factor of risking my health being affected by it. I used to
play a lot of indoor activities such as basketball and volleyball as well as doing some outdoor stuff like
hiking, jogging, running around the rose bowl. With my body being out of shape has gotten me this
mentality of I could never get back to what I enjoyed doing things before. It is indeed hard to get back in
the groove of not being able to do things that I used to love doing but I am going to try my hardest this
year and be better for myself overall. With my current emotional health, I am happy with what I have
right now, and I also am happy because I get to be able to live life to the fullest.
I have written down the all the flaws and things I needed to work on to have a better health and
maintain a better lifestyle. It is my responsibility to take actions for what I have been eating and doing
while trying to change my habits and be a better and healthier person overall. I am learning to balance the
things I eat and lean more into eating healthier food like more vegetables and cut back on red meat. I
think it will be beneficial if I do these things because I can tell if my body isn’t acting like the way it
should be and it could cost me a long term illness if I don’t stop these bad habits. With the COVID-19
and we’re told to stay home I have figured out that I could use such 3 or 5 gallon of water being used as
weights into including it as a workout device. I am planning to start on doing insanity which is a workout
routine that you can do on the daily for 60 days and you get to write down how many repetitions you can
do on the first day and later on in the workout you are able to write down and compare the difference
from where you started and to what you have achieved. I also am starting to take morning walks before
I think it is important to sustain a healthy lifestyle, just like what the textbook says there are
multiple ways where you can improve your lifestyle and improve your health behaviors. That you can
increase your awareness where you are able to figure out your behaviors that detracts from your health.
Find a better change and increase your awareness to contribute to whatever is affecting you and have a
goal. There are multiple steps into achieving your goal figure out the flaws and problems that you have
next is learn more about it and be able to understand the conflicts and assessing what you’re able to do
about it. The book also provides different ways of being able to stay fit and healthy as well as maintaining
a positive look about yourself. Enlisting others as change agents is a good company to have in order to
achieve a positive quality in life where you are able to tell anyone your problems or just someone who
can listen to you and figure out what is going and try and help or support you with your decisions. Lastly,
you should be able talk to yourself and pump yourself up to boost your self-esteem and morale because if
no one else can do it, you can do it on your own. Then after this the book tells that you can reward
yourself because this is a way to promote a positive behavior and it’s called positive reinforcement.
Having goals into having a healthy lifestyle should be a must and should be approached with full
motivation. I have multiple goals in improving my healthy lifestyle, one of them is eating healthier and
trying out new things that could benefit me because I don’t really eat a lot of vegetables nor have tried
other vegetables because I was never a fond of it, I usually just eat red meat but now I am trying to lessen
my red meat intake and putting and trying to add more vegetables into my diet. Vegetables was so hard
for me to eat because it really didn’t taste appealing to me. Another goal is adding the workout routine as
my daily routine. I have forgotten how fun working out was and trying to figure out which workouts work
for me and which doesn’t. I’ve been also trying to wake up earlier than usual for me to be able to do
chores and early routines that I want to add in my lifestyle. For example, I wake up at seven in the
morning to do workouts like pushups, sit ups, jumping jacks etc.. , then get ready to go to school and eat
breakfast when I can since I’ve skipping on eating breakfast lately. Lastly, I do want to do more
indoor/outdoor activities like volleyball, basketball, and hiking. I used to play a lot of sports in high-
school and after high-school, but I stopped playing them when I started just messing around and avoiding
all workouts, eating out all the time and its junk foods.
I am sure that this year is going to be a huge change in my lifestyle because not only I am eating
healthier and cutting back on junk foods, I also am becoming more and more active. I am trying out a
routine my friend taught me about meal preparing and about how much I should put in each container
depending on what I would be doing and what my goals would be with me working out. Also, now a days
I’ve been talking walks from time to time as part of my routine and going on hiking every week or every
other week. I feel overall happy with the progress that I’m having right now because I could feel the
change where I am much more alive eating healthier foods and drinking a lot more water.
