Interestingly, Tagore felt and wrote as per whispers from his guiding overself, his cosmic
beloved who took delight in silently witnessing the eternal harmony of creation through his
poetic ears and eyes. Tagore wrote, “Thou hast taken me as partner of all thine wealth. In my
heart is the endless play of thy delight. In my life thy will is ever taking shape.”
Throughout his life, he strictly and lovingly adhered to the higher Self and felt, “He it is who
puts his enchantment upon these eyes and joyfully plays on the chords of my heart in varied
cadence of pleasure and pain. So, he exclaimed, “There is no loss, there is no end, there is no
stain of triviality. At the feet of thy wholesomeness my mind begs for a place.
” In a candid moment, Tagore asserted, “If you ask me to identify the dominant theme of my
poetic compositions I would like to say that it is nothing but making a bridge between the
finite and the Infinite, joyful discovery of Self within the colourful creation of sight and
symphony and finding my own poetic self within the universal Self.”
