National Science Week will be hosting an event on Wednesday August 19th from 11:30am to 12:30pm in Hall B at the school. The event is for Year 5 students and will explore whether life exists elsewhere in the universe. Students will be put into groups and each group will collect numbered resources to create a model at their designated working space. Groups will have 30 minutes to build their models before time is called, after which models will be compared and a quiz will conclude the event.

NATIONAL SCIENCE WEEK 2020

Does life exist somewhere else in the universe?

DATE: Wednesday 19th August, 2020

VENUE: Hall B – “school name inserted”

TIME: 11:30am to 12:30pm

GRADE: Year 5

What will be happening that day?


11:30am – Introduce what will be happening for this activity.
11:40am – Your teacher will put you in the organised groups.
11:45am – Your group will collect the resources, which are numbered to your
designated working space.
11:50am – Timer will begin (will be monitored and let everyone know when
time is almost up)
12:20pm – Compare each groups model and see who got the closet.
12:25pm – Discussion and concluding event (online quiz).
