The basic steps of communication include forming intent, composing a message, encoding, transmitting a signal, receiving the signal, decoding the message, and interpreting it. Communication occurs through human language, behaviors in living organisms, and signals in communication-enabled devices. It is the transfer of information from one entity to another and is essential for sharing thoughts, opinions, facts, ideas, concepts, instructions, and emotions between a sender and receiver. Effective communication skills are important for jobs and education as interviews and discussions are used to evaluate these skills.

CHAPTER-1

INTRODUCTION TO COMMUNICATION:

Communication (from Latin commūnicāre, meaning "to share")1 is the

purposeful activity of information exchange between two or more participants in
order to convey or receive the intended meanings through a shared system of signs
and semiotic rules. The basic steps of communication are the forming of
communicative intent, message composition, message encoding, transmission of
signal, reception of signal, message decoding and finally interpretation of the
message by the recipient.

Communication in general takes place inside and between three main subject
categories: human beings, living organisms in general and communication-enabled
devices (for example sensor networks and control systems).2 Communication in the
category of living organisms (studied in the field of biosemantics) usually occurs
through visual, auditory, or biochemical means. Human communication is unique
for its extensive use of language.

In other words, we can say that communication is simply the act of transferring
information from one place to another.

It's nearly impossible to go through a day without the use of communication.

Communication is sending and receiving information between two or more people.

The person sending the message is referred to as the sender, while the person
receiving the information is called the receiver. The information conveyed can
include facts, ideas, concepts, opinions, beliefs, attitudes, instructions and even
emotions.
