Chapter-1: Introduction To Communication
INTRODUCTION TO COMMUNICATION:
Communication in general takes place inside and between three main subject
categories: human beings, living organisms in general and communication-enabled
devices (for example sensor networks and control systems).2 Communication in the
category of living organisms (studied in the field of biosemantics) usually occurs
through visual, auditory, or biochemical means. Human communication is unique
for its extensive use of language.
In other words, we can say that communication is simply the act of transferring
information from one place to another.
The person sending the message is referred to as the sender, while the person
receiving the information is called the receiver. The information conveyed can
include facts, ideas, concepts, opinions, beliefs, attitudes, instructions and even
emotions.
