COURSE DESCRIPTION
Art Appreciation is a three-unit course that develops students’ ability to appreciate, analyze, and critique works of art. Through
interdisciplinary and multimodal approaches, this course equip students with a broad knowledge of the practical, historical, philosophical and
social relevance of the arts on order to hone students’ ability to articulate their understanding of the arts. The course also develops students’
competency in researching and curating art as well as conceptualizing, mounting, and evaluating art productions. The course aims to develop
students’ genuine appreciation for Philippine arts by providing them opportunities to explore diversity and richness and their rootedness in
Filipino culture. Suggested enrichment exercises are also provided to make art appreciation more interesting, meaningful, and enjoyable.

2. Discover and deepen their identity through art with respect to their nationality, culture and religion

IV. COURSE POLICIES AND GUIDELINES
This course will used varied teaching strategies such as lecture, reading, reporting, discussion, demonstration, actual activity, discovery learning, and
group dynamics.
The students should be able to actively participate to all the tasks given to them for their learning, experience and apply the techniques in all the
learning in the future.
ACADEMIC INTEGRITY:
All students are expected to practice academic integrity Any attempt of the student to present/submit as his/her own work he/she has not produced is
regarded as serious offense. The students who are enrolled in this course should observe the following policy “Cheating is strictly prohibited during the
quizzes and examination.” If caught, school administration will impose impulsion from the school and automatically students will get a failing grade.
ATTENDANCE:
Attendance must be highly observed for all students who are enrolled in this course. If possible avoid absences and tardiness as much as possible. Each
session is very important to the student learning. Three tardiness is equal to one absent. The maximum number of allowable absences of a student whether
excuse or not is equivalent to twenty percent of the total number of class hours in a given semester as per CHED recognition, fifteen minutes late are
equivalent to one absent. Early dismissal of the students before the time is considered as absent.
CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT:
All students are expected to come to class on time and in proper school uniform with ID Cards properly worn. Uses of cellular phones are prohibited. Cell
phones must be in silent mode during class sessions. In case of emergency calls, students must ask the permission to the teacher to go out and answer such
call.

Exams: Any test missed by the students will be counted as a 0 unless prior arrangements have been made with the instructor.
