Q1. Develop a lesson plan for the security guard training program. Be sure to indicate
the training objective, classroom requirements, training materials and equipment,
supplies, and handouts. You should also indicate the sequence of activities and events
that will occur during the training program, and the timing of them. 

Training objectives for the security guard training program are as follows:
A. To make security guards, more competent, skillful and responsive in emergency circumstances.
B. To establish code of conducts, necessitate protocols, ethics and etiquettes for Security guards
while they are on and off duty.
C. To make Security guard (trainees) aware about the role of different security support
mechanisms.
D. To identify the criteria for various potential emergency situations and make trainees acquainted
with the emergency response procedures.
E. To expand the security guards' role and implement duty of care.

Training lessons according to sequence of activities with relevant segregated heading section is
given below;

7. ETHICS AND CONDUCT 2 HOUR
8.REVIEW AND EXAMINATION 1 HOUR

Introduction

A.Provides an overview of the Security Guard Act , and explains the objectives of the course.

B.Provides an overview of the security industry and defines duties typically performed.
C. Legal Powers and Limitations - Defines the differences between security guards and law
enforcement officials and explains custody and arrests procedures.
D. Emergency Situations - Provides an overview of different types of emergencies and methods
of response.
E. Communications and Public Relations - Explains the communication process and identifies
how perceptions affect interactions.

F. Access Control (2 hour) - Identifies the elements of access control and identification and
defines three types of access control. G. Ethics and Conduct (1 hour) - Defines and explains the
importance of the Code of Ethics for Security Guards. H. Review and Examination (1 hour).

Lessons: Emergency Response Plan:

Identifies what situations are called emergencies, know about different types of Disaster
Management Tools and Techniques.
Provides knowledge on Emergency Health and Management services including the basic first aid,
Basic Life Support, CPR and advanced Life support.

Health and safety policies, procedure promoting learning to cope with emergencies under
Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information
System (WHMIS).

On Field Training:
Real Simulations based on Field Training comprised of 2 hours.

Report writing
It includes 2 hours of theory on effective report writing including the structure, grammatical contents
involving the proof reading .
Each day one hour of practical based report writing training given on Friday and Saturday.

Ethics and Conduct:


Provide theory and practical on Ethical practices in security industry to maintain corporate standards.

Review and Examinations:

The examination will be based on theory as well as practical as guided by the MCCS. Examination
will be taken in class on University of Toronto premise Sunday, June 25,2020.

Ques 2. Who should be the trainer for the security guard training program? 

The trainer for the security guard should be a senior security official or a retired security expert who has
detailed knowledge on training the security guards. The person who trains should have the minute
details about security, knows about the security acts, rules, byelaws, presets very well. Security guard
trainers can be the aforementioned persons who hold the training licenses and have a certified,
Bonafide trainer membership. Probably the trainer must possess more than six years of training
experiences and had trained security guards both in class and on the real workplace outside and it
would be better if they have trained across the globe like in other nations apart from their home
nations. Security guard trainers should possess all the skills including the communication, team building,
mission assigning skills. Trainer should be one who can facilitate well and teach using both the tradition
teaching methodologies in class and also, be able to teach using the web developed online courses on a
relevant online platform. A trainer should be able to train the trainee by crafting the right relevant
lesson plan and should able to foster the learning of trainees by mentoring and coaching at the time of
need. Security guard trainer should be one who use the right pedagogues and useful training
methodologies like learning journal, dialogue buildup and initiations, pre reading case studies and a
good metrics like weighing criteria, Balanced scorecard, SWOT analysis ,for doing the training
evaluation. Trainer should be one who is able to teach all the sections of the training program
mentioned above.
