School Rules

As a holistic school where children are encouraged to discover and follow their passions, Chandra Kumala School rules have
been established within the community. We reflect the school community’s expectations in terms of acceptable standards of
behaviour, dress and personal presentation in the widest sense.
Students have the responsibility:
• To attend school from Monday to Friday

Toddler Morning Class Monday - Friday 08:30 - 11:00

PG/K1/K2 Morning Monday - Friday 07:30 - 11:00

Toddler/PG/K1/K2 Afternoon Monday - Friday 12:00 - 15:30

Primary 1 -2 Monday - Friday 07:30 - 13:45

Primary 3 - Secondary Monday - Friday 07:30 - 15:30

• Students should not arrive before 7:00 as there will be no teacher supervision.
• Students must arrive before 7:30 as the school main hall entrance will be locked after the bell goes off.
• Students are to be dropped off at the main hall. Parents, maids and drivers are not permitted pass the main hall without
permission. Items for students can be dropped off at the front security post at main hall during the day.
• When classes finish, parents/maids/drivers may pick up students at the main hall.
• CK takes the responsibility of students safety and security very seriously. To help us keep your children safe at all times,
it is important that parents notify the school administration in the unusual circumstance that your child will have to leave
the school ground during the normal school day.
• Students must not attend school if they may have a serious contagious illness. Please keep your child at home if his/her
temperature has been over 37,5√ in the last 24 hours.
• All students are required to attend a bi-annual dental and eye check-up.
• All students should have a diary/agenda book in which they must make notes of what they need every day.
• Students must not bring:
◘ Comics, magazines or any reading materials that is offensive or adult in nature.
◘ Electronic games and toys. Hand phone games may not be played during school hours.
◘ Walkman or CD/ tape players unless you bring headphones. These may only be used in class with
teacher’s permission. No CDs or tapes containing offensive material is permitted.
◘ Any dangerous items or items that can be used as a weapon, e.g. box cutters.
◘ Any drugs or medication without parental permission and prior school knowledge.
◘ Chewing gum, cigarettes or alcoholic drinks.
◘ Mobile phones are a necessity nowadays. They are only permitted if used appropriately and with
permission from a teacher.
• Uniforms must be worn at all times unless it is a ‘Non-Uniform Day’ when casual clothing may be worn. Casual clothing
standards will apply:

◘ Casual clothing must be smart and neat. They must not be seen as offensive, immodest, dirty and untidy.
◘ No sandals or open-toed shoes.
◘ Shirts must be tucked in at all times.
◘ Skirts must not be higher than knee length.
• Hair must be worn as one would for a business meeting, i.e. Tied back or put-up, not covering the face for girls. Boys’
• hair must be trimmed off at their collar.
• Hair must be a natural colour.
• Coloured contact lenses and nails are not allowed.
• Jewellery wearing is not allowed for boys, unless under special arrangement.
• Jewellery wearing for girls is not recommended. The school, however, can tolerate:
◘ A pair of stud-earrings; no dangly or long earrings.
◘ A single, simple and unobtrusive, necklace and ring.
◘ All jewellery must be taken off during PE sessions. Rings must be taken off during lab session.

• If students damage any school property, including: computers, chairs, desks or other peripherals, students, or their parents
must pay to replace or repair it.
• Anti-Bullying Policy
The school treats any form of bullying very seriously. Any cases of intimidation, including: verbal abuse, threats, sexual
comments or racial slurs, will be dealt with immediately and severely. Physical abuse is absolutely prohibited and carries
the risk of harsh punishment, in more serious cases, could lead to expulsion.
• Students who break school rules will be counselled and suitable disciplinary action will be set by his ) her teacher or
principal. The punishments set will be agreed upon with the student beforehand, and in some instances, with the parents of
the student receiving the punishment.
