ANALYSIS OF DATA

In Part 1 of the experiment we observed the outcome of the magnetic field of

permanent magnets. In A, the magnets repel to each other since the it has the same
pole. In B, they attract because of different poles. In C, the magnets made two
attractions since the ends are opposite to each other. And in D, there is no
attraction or repulsion since it composes of north poles and south poles.

In Part 2, we conducted an experiment about magnetic force on current

carrying conductor. In A, which is about the magnetic force and magnetic field, we
used the SF 42 to perform this experiment with the voltage set to maximum and the
current is at 0 to 5 A with 0.5 increment. In this experiment, we noticed that as the
magnets increases, the magnetic force also increases.

In table B, which is the magnetic force and current, we used the same
settings. In this table, we noticed that the current increases as well as the magnetic
force.

In table C, which is about the magnetic force and length of current loop, we
used all the current loop and set the settings of the voltage to maximum and the
current to 2 Amps and we set the digital initial reading to 0 gram. We observed that
the length and the magnetic force increases at the same time.

In table D, we used the same settings and we observed that the magnetic
force is at its minimum if it is in parallel while the magnetic force is at its
maximum if it is in perpendicular.

The possible errors we ’observed were the placements of the magnets. There
must be a proper orientation of magnets since it affects the outcome of the
experiments. Another thing is that the magnets should not touch the wires. And
lastly, we didn’t set the digital balance initial reading to 0 that’s why we came up
of different result but we somehow managed to change it.

CONCLUSION
The first objective of the experiment is to study the nature of magnetic fields
around the poles of magnets. This objective is very easy to accomplish since we all
know the basic rule of magnetism which is opposite attracts and similar repels.
Since we know the basic rule of magnetism, it helps us to accomplish the
objectives of this experiment. Therefore, we did what this experiment wants us to
do.

As I said, this experiment is about the basic rule of magnetism which is

opposite attracts and similar repels. There are also four properties of magnetic
force which are the magnetic force is proportional to the magnitude of the charge,
the magnitude of force us proportional to the strength of the field, the magnetic
force depends on the particle’s velocity and the magnetic force does not have the
same direction as the magnetic field. These theories can be observe based on the
data that we conducted.

This experiment really helps us to understand more about electromagnetism.

At first, I only know the basic rule of magnetism but after the experiment, I can
know understand complex ideas about this topic. It also helps me to plan our entry
in the Physics Olympics. Magnetism is very useful to my course since I’m
studying Electrical Engineering. Some of the useful application of this are gadgets,
appliances and apparatuses that is used in hospitals like MRI scanners.
