    ESSAY VDMS SCHOLARSHIP

    My name is Agung Satriyo Bayu, and my nick name is Agung, Lasmono’s and
    Asmani’s son that was born at Banyuwangi, March 15th 2000, the last child of three siblings.
    My father had worked as laborers or employees in one place and my mother just be a
    housewife. I have two sisters, one of which is undergoing final semester at Rustida Health
    Academy, and the other one was married and have a daughter. My family address at dsn.
    Krajan 02/05 Tegalharjo Glenmore Banyuwangi, a place that is far enough away from the
    crowds. My school from elementary to high school is located close to the residence of my
    family in Glenmore Banyuwangi, until i currently out of the place for studying at the
    University of Airlangga.

    I’m a student who studying at PSDKU Universitas Airlangga Banyuwangi with a


    specialization of aquaculture major Faculty of Fisheries and Marine. In the early years of my
    lecture, i’m join to be part of the KOMIKAT Islamic Spirituality council that focused on
    publications division, became a finalist Campus Ambassador UNAIR BWI, and was active in
    student choir. I was started the organization through the spirituality of Islamic in order to
    strengthen the first soul and my identity to start college life next. In the second year of college,
    i became part of the council Executive Student Association on campus as ministry’s staff
    KOMINFO position. Other than that, This time i also became part of an organization Garuda
    Sakti that houses Scientific Student Assosiation on campus and focused on PKM sector and
    also become the Treasurer on the council of Choir. Earlier, when I’m high school, i were active
    as an organizer focused on Physical Health of OSIS (Intra School Student Organization). Since
    2018, i was participated at one environmentally communities "Shareco" and be part of pioneer
    in the development of this environmental community, there has been a lot that we do like
    birthday of the prophet Muhammad themed “Maulid Nabi Minim Sampah” that was held in
    several schools in Banyuwangi, program beach clean up are carried out every month and
    intensify zerowaste program by reducing the use of plastic waste and start with a product that
    can be used sustainably.

    I had attended a community services care/PENGMAS that was created by one of the
    lecturers that held in the district of Licin Banyuwangi, order to introduce and empower the
    community about the sectors of fisheries technology so that the outcome meant for local
    people to have the knowledge and help of their economic sectors that wish can grow up. I was
    joined many committee on the campus, one of them is a community services that held in the
    coast of the Santen island which are the core of this program is early education on the
    opportunities and processing potential development of coastal way so that people become
    aware of it. Through several activities such as a volunteer i learned to build a sense of social
    awareness and usefulness of self for others.

    A few days ago i have been following the basic level student management training
    that is useful for me to be a good organizer so as to balance between lectures and organization.
    Although i was active in organizations, but i do not forget my discipline lecture im in, in the
    last semester i have a GPA that is enough for an organizer, I get 3.52 of GPA. Other that, I also
    was participated in the selection of students achievement (MAWAPRES) in college and in
    high school i attended a national science olympiad that focussed on sector Earth Science
    (Kebumian) and ranked on top 25.
    Students actually has a lot of responsibility, responsibility to the parents and to the
    community for social concerns. I should practice Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi, one of them is
    community services, on the other hand i have the responsibility of science value to the parents
    who have financed and fought for me. A mandate that is quite heavy for a student. I have
    participated in various social activities and build me a social life, my focussed scientific is in
    aquaculture sectors which is a sector of science that is quite offensive activities of
    environmental, social and cultural fishery’s people, so that it can become a place for me to
    gain knowledge to filter the information and shared through social activities in the fisheries
    community. Being a student also needs to strive for how to get a good GPA as a form of
    responsibility to parents and being a good organizer to implement Tridharma Perguruan
    Tinggi.

    I have attended many activities of organizations, environmental program and social


    concerns, and i have proved that the organization did not prevent me from getting GPA> 3.5.
    Regarding priorities, I do not rule out the academic sector. Among the many activities that i
    elaborated, i still have not forgotten my academic tasks that become my responsibility. One of
    my sisters is becoming a graduate student and require a considerable expense for my parents,
    on the other hand my parents also had to fund me in the lecture. I came from a family of small,
    simple, which must be fought first to get something, so i have to be serious in a period of
    study. At least when i was tired of college life, i have a reason to come back eager again to
    complete the education plan with 3.5 years and are determined to maintain my 3.5 GPA.
    Currently i volunteered registering VDMS scholarship with the intention that my parents no
    longer have to think my collage life and no again work hard for my tuition fees and help often
    the burden on families. My motivation often attend social activities is to “humanize humans
    through humans”, it is important to make me a person who cares about others.

    If a’m mandating into grantee VDMS, I hope to optimize the potential of the existing
    mine, can help ease the burden on families, and can be useful in society and also can be a spirit
    in developing in community in social activities. Getting shade from VDMS foundation is a
    very honorable thing for me. Makes a valuable experience for my life. I hope this will be my
    spirit to continue to grow up because my responsibility is not only just the parents and the
    community, but there will be the more responsibility on the VDMS foundation. Furthermore,
    the need for a sizable lecture is expected to be assisted through VDMS scholarships mandated
    this to me.

    During my studies, i have gained various experiences in the science sectors,


    organization, and social environmental care. Many community service programs that have
    been and will be carried out are expected to become a spirit and a thing that i can bring after
    i graduate from Airlangga University. Through the community that is currently being
    pioneered as well, it is hoped that it can develop and be useful to the community and other
    people, becoming a place for everyone to carry out social activities and a enviromental care
    activities. Through the disciplines that I have elaborated on, it made my basis for sharing
    knowledge with the public about the sector of fisheries so that the community would be
    helped by it. Besides that, i will never forget the VDMS foundation that has helped me in the
    process of self-development for the social activities that i do during the lecture process.
