PCIe slots
• The 1.4 or higher CMC firmware version is required for 2400W PSU upgrades.
• Only consider 1+1 PSU configuration after explaining to the customer how RAO functions
– 1+1 Grid Redundant : FC640 power is limited to the maximum capacity supported by a single PSU, which guarantees redundancy in all combinations
workload transients and PSU/grid failures
– Redundancy Alerting Enabled (RAO) : Enables maximum system utilization, while minimizing exposure to PSU/grid failures. Normal runtime operation is
identical to 1+1, but system power is not limited to the maximum capacity supported by a single PSU
– 2+0 Non Grid Redundant : Identical to RAO mode without alert logging. This mode would typically be used for extremely high performance applications
New – Fault Tolerant Redundancy (FTR) : Similar to Grid Redundancy, FTR is a conservative redundancy policy that ensures that the PowerEdge FX2 shared
infrastructure Chassis and installed components will remain operational with no risk of shutdown in the event of an AC Grid or PSU even when all installed
component are simultaneously running at their worst case power consumption. New FTR is a limit on peak performance that occurs when redundancy is
lost. Fault Tolerant Redundancy is able to maintain the same conservative standards of redundancy as traditional Grid Redundancy by limiting peak power
after redundancy is lost to levels which will fit within the surviving Power Supply.
