Why did you choose your proposed course and institution?
I chose the Master of Computer Science coursework because I graduated an IT. I work
as Technical IT.This coursework will also equip me with the qualifications more deeply
for anything I haven’t got before.In my mind, by gaining advanced technical IT skills, and
sharing it with all of students in my country, I have dreams to participate in improving the
quality of people in IT. At this time, I just work at vocational school. I wanna contribute
also in university. This is the reason, why this coursework is so important for me
When I find information about the curriculum of University of Technology Sydney, I

prefer it as my first. Information system, interactive media, internetworking, and software
development is the field of IT that is I have done in my school. All of this fields support
me with previous studies in the same field, eligible for credits. It alaso can help me to
advance into specialised subjects , such as cyber security and data analytics. I can
select an elective track to support my career goals and interests.
My second choice is the Canberra Institute of Technology because of its research

community and outstanding program support. They said that an institution's reputation is
everything. Before I continue my study to the degree, I graduated from vocational
school. I saw from the website, CIT provides progressive and accessible education
solutions using the latest technology and the most up-to-date in learning capabilities,
with options for flexible and online learning. I have one main goal that it must be come
true. I must become a great lecturer in my country. I do believe, I will be exposed to
international experts and their teaching techniques too. Master of Philosophy,
Engineering and Computer Science at the Canberra Institute of Technology includes a
master thesis, and I hope it will improve my research skills. Wit all of my mind, I believe I
can learn from other great researchers and build up a network.
How will the proposed study contribute to your career

Currently I work as a lecturer of undergraduate students. While being a lecturer means
to become a teacher and researcher, pursuing the Doctor's degree in Applied Linguistics
will contribute to my career advancement as both a teacher and a lecturer.
First, the proposed study opens more opportunities for me to train my teaching skills in-
depth. I have gained adequate teaching skills from my Master's and Bachelor's degrees.
However, I still lack the skill of fitting the language classroom into the 21st century
demands. My weakness may be caused by inadequate analyses and implementation of
recent findings and practices. Meanwhile, the doctorate program will sharpen my overall
teaching skills by rigorously reviewing best practices. Being able to teach better will help
improve my students in many ways as I believe the better I teach, the better my students
will be. Moreover, I can also share my successful teaching practices to other teachers so
that I can multiply the positive effect. This way, I can see myself a well-educated
member of society in the field.
Secondly, my career as a researcher will be particularly supported by the study. Up to
this point, I have identified my weaknesses in researching. They include inaccurate
reading of research urgency, lack of experiences in applying various research methods,
and lack of analysis and discussion skills. The proposed study will conscientiously
address these weaknesses thus assist me with my career. The study will intensively
train my researching skills because during my study most learning experiences will
involve research that aims to deepen my understanding of a specific topic. Aside from
the experiences in research, I can also enrich my experience in publishing journal
articles with the professors. All published articles will be recorded as credits that
contribute to my career promotion. Finally, upon completing the Doctor's degree, I can
become a well-educated society and a highly trained professional workforce.
First, these studies opens much more opportunities to train my computing skills more
deeply. I have gained adequate computing skills from previous education. I must
develop my skill by relearning from other great people. I have felt, my skill is still lack. it
may be caused by inadequate analyses and implementation of recent findings and
practices. Meanwhile, the research program will sharpen my overall skills by rigorously
reviewing best practices. With my better skill, it will help improve my students in many
ways as I believe. The important thing is I must share my successful story to other
person.

supported by the study. I my self have identified that researching is my weakness. This
weakness caused by my experinces that it is still less. I must learn about various
research methods, and lack of analysis and discussion skills. The proposed study will
conscientiously address these weaknesses thus assist me with my career. The study
also will train me intensively. It can be happened because during my study most learning
experiences will involve research that aims to deepen my understanding of a specific
topic. Absolutely, there are many advantages I will get, like experiences in research in
publishing journal articles with the professors. These will be recorded as credits that
contribute to my career promotion.

and/or professional; and

A1. Having cooperation with local education department to establish the educator’s
forum of Information, Communication and Technology which I can use transferring my
knowledge and experiences in information system, cyber security, data analytics,
interactive media, internetworking, and software development.
A2 Conducting an computing skill for local people involving in formal and informal
education sector especially for small and rural school.
A3 Designing and developing teaching and learning materials, particularly computer’s

courses which cover not only national standards but also local cultures and places.
B1. Low participation of computer’s teachers to join professional development programs

which do not give direct financial benefits. In Sumbawa, there are still fews industry in
sector of Information, Communication and Technology. Many of them do their job as a
teacher’s only based on the curriculum
B2. Limited support from local government. At this time we have The Government’s Job
Training Center, but if we want to join with them, we must have a license as instructor.
B3. Limited funding from schools and related institutions for teachers’ professional
development.All of the activities must follow the rules from the government.
