    DONG Energy are developing an offshore
    wind farm in the German sector of the
    North Sea. NGI will install 20 offshore
    wind turbine bucket foundations, called
    Suction Bucket Jackets.
    Natural hazards
    NGI works with natural damage
    resulting from avalanches, debris
    flows, landslides, floods and
    earthquakes.
    We are internationally recognised
    experts in assessing the risk of natural
    damage.
    We assess landslide, rock fall and
    avalanche risks and operate landslide,
    rock fall and avalanche warning
    systems for the Norwegian Public
    Roads Administration, the Norwegian
    National Rail Administration, the
    Norwegian Armed Forces and several
    local authorities, among others.

    Folldal Plant delivered copper, zinc and
    sulfur in over 200 years. Copper-containing
    tailings with polluting runoff to the salmon
    rich river of Folla has long been an
    environmental problem. The Directorate of
    Mining engaged NGI to do a survey and
    recommend measures to reduce the impact
    of Folla.
