Objectives:
1. To raise awareness to the adverse effect of drugs;
2. To discuss and understand the significant role of community in the fight againts terrorism;
3. To identify hazards (man-made emergencies) that causes accidents in workplace;
4. To know how to use the available fire protection at workplace.

PART II
NARRATIVE REPORT

1. Introduction
In pursuant to SDM No. 243 s. 2019 re: CAPACITY BUILDING FOR SCHOOL HEADS AND SDRRM conducted
on November 11-15, 2019 whereas one of its odjectives is to standardize the DRRM Training for District and School
DRRM Coordinator and to capacitate the participants on the Contingency Planning at the School Level. In connection
to this, San Salvador High School conducted a one day Seminar and Orientation on Drug, Terrorism, Calamities and
Fire Safety on January 31, 2020. This acitivity was spearheaded by the School Head and DRRM Coordinator in
partnerhip with PNP Masinloc and SAF, Phil-Coast Guard and BFP Masinloc. Participants were 16 Teachers, Eleven
from Junior High School and Five from Senior High School. Three from Non teaching Staff and 298 JHS and SHS
Learners. Sessions were facilitated by five speakers from different agency.

Rationale & Objectives:


As a learner-centered public institution, San Salvador High School aims to intitutionlized the culture of safety among
learners and ensure the implementation of SDRRM protocol and guidelines. Thus, in consonance with the thrust on
quality education, the activity is conducted with the following objectives to be observed: (1) To raise awareness to the
adverse effect of drugs; (2) To discuss and understand the significant role of community in the fight againts terrorism;
(3) To identify hazards (man-made emergencies) that causes accidents in workplace and; (4) To know how to use the
available fire protection at workplace.

2. Narration and Accomplishment in accordance with the Training Activity/ Matrix/Schedule


The activity was guided with matrix which was strictly followed by the school. Mrs. Grace B. Montivirgen stood as
the Executive Chairperson and Mr. Richard A. Monta as the School DRRM Coordinator. Opening program was
graced by an inspirtional message delivered by th School Head who urged participants to be attentive during the
seminar. The program was divided by series of activities presented ny different speakers and experts from
Government Agencies such as the PNP – SAF, BFP and Philippines Coast Guard.
PCpl Fairy Ann E. Egango from PNP Agency discussed the negative effects of drugs and heighted current situation of
illegal drugs in the country. Meanwhile, SN2 Jamir Mustala from PNP – SAF gave additional informtion on how to
prevent and counter violent extremism. SF02 Ledilla C Marty from Bureau of Fire and Protection and CPO Felix
Rizaldy M. Sardan of Phil- Coast Guard shared their knowledge on mechanism of various hazards, early warning
system and preparedness measures. SF02 Marty shared tips on prevention and preparedness measures for Fire Hazards
including How to Use Fire Extinguisher and CPO Felix Rizaldy M. Sardan, Substation Commander of Masinloc Coast
Guard lectured on Mechanism, Early Warning Systems and Preparedness Measures of Weather- Related Hazards.
Teachers and Learners gained knowledge on how to integrate DRR Education in daily lives. Also, DRRM
Coordinator, Mr. Richard A. Monta, encouraged teachers to intergrate DRR Education in their lessons. He also
presented and discussed the School Contingency plan.
After the sessions, a short recognition ceremony was conduct to commend the expretise of the Resource Speakers.
Mrs. Grace B. Montivirgen commended the Speakers for their invaluable support to the program of DepEd. She also
expressed her gratitude by giving them Certificates witnessed by the crowd.
To sum it up, a one day seminar and orientation brought a meaningful experience among participants especially to the
learners. They acquired sailient knowledge and skills on DRR Education.
