Germina,
to our school principal, sir Armin O. Cabrales, to our Head
Teacher , Sir Elmer C. Banania, Teachers, Families, Friends,
and my Fellow Graduates. I am honoured to speak on behalf of
the Graduating Class of 2019 and to welcome you all to this
Virtual Graduation Ceremony.
The coronavirus pandemic has caused many graduations to be
replaced with virtual, drive-in and other alternative ceremonies.
And so, the tradition of giving thanks addressing their
classmates at this huge moment in their young lives is a little
different this year. While I am sad to leave SCES, I am looking
forward to the next step in my life because I know I’m ready…
we are ready! I know we’re ready.
I began my time at Santa Cruz Elementary School, six years
ago. At the time, I was worried about changing schools. I
wondered how I would fit in, and if I would make close friends.
Now, on my graduation day, I am so thankful for that change. I
am so happy to have been a part of this school. SCES is a place
that fosters lasting friendships, encourages curiosity and the
pursuit of knowledge, and most importantly, strengthens our
relationship with God. Our school is truly making disciples of
Christ.
