Import/Export Manager
Century Arms, Inc.

Reports to: Int’l Procurement and Compliance Manager Position Type: Full-Time
Location: Vermont

Summary of Position Mission

Responsible for managing suppliers, brokers, forwarder and transport companies bringing foreign product to Vermont,
leading all aspects of the process. Ensures that all import and export activity and the recordkeeping related to it are in
compliance with federal regulations by working with the relevant agency (BATF, Commerce Department, State
Department, U.S. Customs, etc.). Establishes and maintains proper procedures and policies for these areas.

Responsibilities

• Works with suppliers and agents to arrange proper in-transit permissions on shipments to various locations
• Responsible for the company’s import permit and export license processes
• Prepares various import/export/supplier forms for submittal to various agents BATF, Commerce/State
Department and U.S. Customs.
• Prepares required documents for Suppliers
• Prepares documents to release goods at the U.S. Port and reviews and sign off entry for the broker to complete
entry with U.S. Customs.
• Manages all necessary documents processed/ to submit to necessary agencies timely
• Prepares electronic withdrawals, manipulations, and destructions from the bonded warehouse and submit to
Customs in Highgate Springs, VT for release.
• Works with Gov’t Agencies when they arrive in the facility.
• Preform periodic audits
• Prepares purchase orders, posts international shipments in Company ERP (Solar soft) and keeps them maintained.
• Enters bills into accounts payable system for payment.
• Prepares the end of year report for U.S. Customs and many other reports needed for other Gov’t agencies
• Research documents required for Export Sales Orders to make sure goods can be exported.
• Prepare export documents working with forwarders and customer to ship out.
• Back up to Compliance/Traffic/Procurement positions as needed
• Actively participate and support the 5S process within the work area on a daily basis
• Other duties will be assigned as required

Qualifications & Knowledge Required

• Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in Business or equivalent degree.


• 3-5 years’ recent experience in transportation/logistics
• Knowledge or experience of ATF, Department of State and US Customs required.
• Previous supervisory experience.
• Highly organized and experienced with document requirements that must be exact.
• Excellent understanding of information systems.

• Understand all the government agencies regulations Century works with including the FCPA regulations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Able to work additional hours as needed. (Project timelines and work volume/deadlines may require more than
40 hours per week and/or weekends to complete essential duties of this job.)
• Must have mental processes for reasoning, remembering, mathematics and language ability (reading, writing and
speaking English language) to perform the duties efficiently

Working Conditions

Work is normally performed in a climate-controlled office environment and throughout a heated manufacturing and
warehouse facility. Exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, poor ventilation, fumes and gases is very limited. Noise
level is moderate and includes sounds of light manufacturing, shipping and receiving, and normal office equipment
(computers, telephones, etc.). No known environmental hazards are encountered in normal performance of job duties.

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
