We use Present Perfect to look back from the present into the past, and express what has happened
before now. The action happened at an indefinite time in the past.
I’ve met a lot of famous people. (before now)
She has won awards. (in her life)
She’s written twenty books. (up to now)
To express an experience as part of someone’s life
I’ve travelled a lot in Europe.

We use Present Perfect continuous to express an activity which began in the past and continues to the
present.
We’ve been waiting here for hours!
It’s been raining for days.
And to refer to an activity with a result in the present.
I’m hot because I’ve been running.
I haven’t got any money because I’ve been shopping.
