- In order to become a effective product manager the essential skills needed are research skills,
know how to respect in all ways (to employee, employer, colleague), have at least an average
creative mindset, versatile and always embracing change.
2. What are the roles and responsibilities of product managers to prioritize features and
corresponding justification?
- As a proficient product manager, describing the roles and responsibilities of my job, I can say
based on my experiences in the field of service, we prioritize our clients and their satisfaction.
We always try to make the extra mile but not compromising company’s interest.
3. As a product manager, what was your most successful project?
- For what I have accomplished, we are able to secure a project account for Solar Panel project
in VISMIN and handle a tedious requirement of healthcare storage system and facilities. Those
are some of the things that I can consider as my most successful projects.
4. How do you develop product strategy and roadmap?
- In terms of innovating the product strategy and roadmap, the first thing that you may consider
is by researching. The next step is to study new method/procedure/structure, and lastly to
welcome the feedbacks or suggestions of your customers.
- When developing and establishing our company’s products, I consider this process to be one
of the most critical and crucial part of the procedure especially when it boils down to marketing
new products to modern consumers. Based on my personal perspective, I find our target
market’s likes and dislikes through market trends, referrals, experimentation, joining groups and
organizations, road shows.
2. What type of customer research do you conduct, how do you segment them and how
often?
- Briefly explaining what customer research is, it is a method of defining the desires,
perceptions, motives, and actions of the target consumer. I personally segment them by
market trends (there are a lot in the internet), market tools (amazon tools and the like), checking
stock markets (you will have an idea which market is developing, collapsing or blooming), and
knowledge about seasonal products and business.
3. Do you think your ways to look for customers desire for the product you are
developing is effective? How did you say so?
- I think it’s effective for now, however we should have a mindset that there is always a better
way to do things. What matter today will not be exceptional tomorrow.
4. How do you develop and plan your product strategy? Does your company have a
development methodology to follow?
- We observe a proactive system when it comes to planning a product strategy because most of
the decision making is spearheaded by the upper management based from feedback system,
also studying historical data to gain insight and making all minds involved by conducting a
brainstorming.
5. How do you know if a product launch is successful? What metrics do you use to
assess product success?
- After that, the success of a product launch is determined by positive reviews and feedbacks
from customers as well as profitable figures from sales results.
6. What plan of actions do you apply and implement to achieve your desired output for
your products?
- But then, in order to achieve desirable results, a product manager must be hard working,
monitors daily or end to end, stay focused with a clear goal in mind, always aiming for quality
service, and establishing relationships by delivering after sales service.
- Being firm, decisive but still a human in anyway characterizes a good product manager. As a
product manager, we put the clients as the topmost priority by providing the high-quality
products and services that are meant for the customers. Based on my experience, having
humility and perseverance also characterize a good product manager.
- Minimizing failure and not surrendering on it are their ways to avoid development failure. They
are very eager to achieve their goals and to develop their products therefore they try their very
best to check, monitor, and be responsive at all times.
3. What are the best and hardest thing about being a product manager?
- Being the product manager is hard as it may take a huge toll to your personal life but one the
bright side they are motivated by every success, as it also drives them to develop.
4. What do you think is the most common mistake that a product manager has made?
- Being a product manager requires time management skills and being diligent yet when I am
immersed in my work I tend to forget to delegate tasks. I am always ahead and, in the process,
doing most of everything. For others, this may seem a good thing however, being a product
manager, you need to work well with your team. And that is why I see this as my common
mistake.
5. What aspect of being a product manager do you find least and most exciting?
- I find the meeting and service approval the least exciting part of being a product manager,
however, the execution/actual stage where we create a new product or add new features to an
existing product is intriguing.
6. What was the major challenge you experienced this year as a product manager? How
do you deal with it?
- The Covid-19 Pandemic is the major challenge I experienced this year. I handled this by being
relentless and never giving up. I engrave in my mind that “The economy will prosper again and
so we are.”
