Analysis

1. What are the two seasons in

the Philippines?

Very good!!

2. What do you think is the reason

for this?

Very good!!
The students will do the activity
Abstraction individually.

Most tropical countries experience

only 2 seasons. The wet and dry season
this is because almost all the tropical
countries are near the equator.
Most countries of the world, in
fact, have only two seasons. This is
because most countries lie within the
tropical zone. It is the region between the
Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of
Capricorn, within which, everywhere gets
to meet the sun at the zenith (directly
overhead) at least once a year at noon.
This region around the equator is generally
warm and has limited range in temperature
therefore, climate changes are less
dramatic compared to other regions. There
are a few countries within the equatorial
belt that have 3 or 4 seasons, and some
parts have just one. But most countries,
including the Philippines, have two.

Do you understand children?

The two seasons in the Philippines
are the rainy/wet season and the dry
season. The rainy season happens from
May to October, and the dry season can
be subdivided based on temperature - cold
dry from November to February and hot
dry from March to April.

Application

Make a plan of activities or make

a list of activities that you can do during the
wet and dry season.
Wet Season Dry Season

1. Is it important to have two different seasons in the Philippines? Why?
2. Do you think it is best for us to have 2 seasons only? Justify your answer.
