The document provides information about testing and adjusting a D4E track-type tractor transmission, including descriptions of its components and control systems as well as procedures for adjusting the control linkage.

The main components of the transmission hydraulic control system include the selector valve body, priority valve, oil filter, speed selector valve spool, oil pump, directional selector valve spool, oil sump and screen, torque converter inlet relief valve spool, torque converter, pressure control valve body, oil cooler, orifice, transmission lubrication relief valve, load piston, modulating relief valve spool, and differential valve spool.

The main groups that make up the transmission control system are the pressure control valve group, selector valve group, and priority valve group.

Testing And Adjusting

Important Information

To avoid personal injury when tests must be done in a closed area, activate the
brakes and use blocks to prevent machine movement during the tests. Let only
approved personnel on the machine. Keep other personnel off the machine and
in view of the operator.

NOTA: Todas las pruebas y ajustes deben realizarse con el aceite en el sistema de
control hidráulico a la temperatura normal de operación. Asegúrese de que los
ajustes de vinculación sean correctos antes de realizar cualquier prueba.

Adjustment Of Control Linkage

To avoid personal injury, do not make any adjustments to the linkage with the
engine running.

1. Remove cotter pins and pins from levers (23) and (25).

2. Move transmission selector lever (19) to the FORWARD side of the NEUTRAL opening of shift
guide (26) as shown.

3. Move lever (23) toward the front of the machine. The movement of lever (23) will move
direction spool (6) to FORWARD position.
