To whom it may concern,

My name is Richard Morris, a teacher at Cass High School. I am writing this letter of recommendation for
Nikki Anderson. I have known Nikki for about 2 ½ years. I have had the pleasure of teaching her in
Honors Algebra 2 and Honors Pre-Calculus her sophomore and junior years. During those classes I have
gotten to know her well enough to identify some of her strengths in math. I have also had many
conversations with Nikki that led me to know more about her personally.

Nikki has many fine qualities that make her a great student in my class. She is attentive, smart, and well
mannered. When it comes to math, I have noticed that she takes notes and learns the concepts very
well. She also retains the information and uses it to her advantage later in class. Math is a subject that
builds on prior topics as one makes progress through the class. Nikki remembers the concepts from
previous lessons and that helps her when she is working on classwork or homework. When she struggles
with solving a problem in class, she is not afraid to come ask me questions. As she approaches my desk,
she is always kind and considerate, this makes it easier to talk with her and explain answers to the
problems she is having. In many instances, Nikki gets a little confused on where to start with a problem.
Once she is led down a particular path, she has no problem finishing the problem. On top of that, it only
takes a brief minute to describe the way to solve a problem and I can see the wheels start to turn in her
head again. I believe that is her way of recalling old information. She politely replies with “yes sir” and
goes back to work. It is refreshing to see a smart considerate young woman in my classroom who will
only ask questions when it is necessary.

Over the years, I have had time to know Nikki on a more personal level. Since I have known her in 10 th
grade, Nikki has been active on the cheerleading squad and she is well liked by her peers. I have
witnessed conversations between her and other students where Nikki would be giving advice on how to
handle a situation. Nikki has learned to be patient with some of her friends who are not as mature as
she is. These qualities make Nikki an amazing person to know and to be around.

I think Nikki Anderson is an excellent young student who cares about her schoolwork and her future. I
highly recommend Nikki for any college or career that she pursues. Her hard work and dedication to
completing tasks combined with her charming personality and positive attitude made her a valued
individual in my classroom. Nikki is truly a remarkable individual. If you have any further questions,
please do not hesitate to contact me using the information below.

Sincerely,

Richard Morris
