1. Educational autobiography with respect to the experiences as a

learner till now.

Academic experiences

a. Class 6

Till 5th standard I studies in St. John school. In 6th standard I

was admitted to kendriya vidyalaya jnu, which is a central
school situated in Delhi. Coming from a private school I
obviously had an upper edge over other students. I could
express myself a little better. I understood concepts faster and
I was slightly better with forming first impression. But in the
end I have to admit that I went to that school as an average
student who used to secure average marks.

Things were normal till my first unit test started. I started to

make average friends. I remember my first math unit test. I
simply wrote it. Like an average student will. When the teacher
showed us the paper I got 23 out of 40. I was totally fine with
my marks until a girl called Simran Solanki approached me.
She asked my marks and laughed at it. I still remember her
exact words.
“Looking at you I thought I will finally get some competition in
class, but you are just like all these average minded people.”
I stood silent for a moment. I still remember that mixed
feeling. Nobody ever talked to me like that before. But nobody
ever considered me their competition before. I felt insulted but
I didn’t say anything.
All I said was “all the best for the coming English exam”
When I came back home and told my mom about what had
happened she motivated me to look for the positive in it. I
studied day and night for that English exam. I said nothing to
anybody but deep inside all wanted was to beat her once.
Finally we wrote the exam and the result came.
The Teacher came to the class and said, “Students I am here
with the English test marks. Guess who got the highest
marks.”
Everybody shouted Simran’s name as she has been topping
the English exam since 3 continuous years.
“No, the record has been broken. It’s someone else this time.”
Everyone was shocked. Then she made me stand and said,
“Ruchika how much marks do you expect?”
I said nothing. Then she announced that Ruchika Arora has
topped this exam with 38 out of 40 marks. I stood speechless.
That was the day I got the confidence that I was more than
just an average student. My bar touched heights I myself could
not imagine.
Simran came to me and apologized for insulting me. I thanked
her for igniting that fire in me. From that day I was always
among the competitive students. And that girl called Simran is
still my best friend. We still laugh a lot when we remember
that time.

Class 10th

No single class has transformed my life in school . But

debating has always been one thing that has developed my
personality from being a shy and nervous person to a
confident person. I still remember the first time I took part in
debate. It was a horrible experience as I was very nervous and
I didn't remember my lines properly. But a friend of mine has
always been there for me and she taught me how to overcome
my fears and nervousness and the next time I took part it was
much better. I started listening to my opponents’ arguments
and expressing myself in a subtle way .Gradually I started
believing in myself and became a much confident person and
that was seen in my debating skills by everyone. So, debating
is one thing that has always been close to my heart and it
helped me enhancing my personality .

Class 11th

I am very fond of poetry since my early years. In junior classes in

the schools I used to take part in various poetry competitions and
they are the reason why I am so confident and a balanced person
now. Poetry makes me happy. It makes me feel alive. I am not a
trained poet but that doesn't stop me from showing my skills
whenever I get a chance to. In school, the students that were
academic toppers were always given the priority and then the other
students were considered. I always felt bad about this and I
decided to work hard to be at the same position as them. So that
made me more dedicated to prove myself and my skills. I practiced
even harder and after a period of time I was also performing the
same poetry routine with them. My dedication and hard work paid
off. I managed to get a chance to say my poetry in front of
hundreds of people in the Indian oil annual poetry meet. I was
appreciated for the depth of my words at such a young age. I feel
amazing whenever I think about it.

Class 12th

2. Write a reflective statement of aspirations and
expectations based on one’s learning so far in the course.

The past four months have been like a roller coaster ride to
me. I have had infinite experiences and leant a bunch of really
important lessons in this journey. When I stepped in this
building of LLDIMS all I knew was that I will become a teacher
after completing this course as I will be able to start with my
teaching career as b.ed is the basic eligibility for most of the
teaching jobs in our country. My aspiration of becoming a
teacher has clearly changed from being a constant learner and
someone who knows how to effectively pass on that
knowledge. But today, after successfully completing this
semester I not only plan to become a teacher but I understand
the role of a teacher and how important I am going to be for
the society after a couple of years. It makes me feel alive. I
am not a trained teacher yet but that doesn't stop me from
showing my skills whenever I get a chance to. Because of this
course, I have started to love the aura of this profession. I
have started to love children. Above all, every day when I
come to college I am excited about what I am going to learn
that day. I feel nice to be a part of such a course that offers
you tremendous learning and unlimited fun.
