1.Name three ”fun facts”about your chosen business.

They Were Not Successful in Germany: Their failure can mostly be
attributed to trying to impress American cultural values on Germans.

They Created Their Own Electricity Company: saving them around 15

million per year and I think that was one of the most intelligent think that
the business did

Sam Walton Did Not Believe in Charity He believed that any charitable giving
would take money out of the pockets of their customers – or even their
shareholders. Obviously after he die the firm began to donate a significant
amount of money to various causes

2.Would this business be best described as a perfect competitor,

monopolistic competitor, monopoly, or oligopoly? Explain in detail.
Knowing the charactheristicts of a monopoly and a oligopoly we can say
that Walmart is a oligopoly. First of all because it competes with other
stors such as target or k mart. We can also sya this base on their
moderate prices, since there are a lor of competitors Walmart has to have
a similar or lower price.
Of these choices, it is more correct to say that Wal-Mart is in an
oligopoly.

The clearest reason to say this has to do with the definition of a

monopoly.  In a monopoly, there is only one seller for an entire
market.  This is not true of Wal-Mart's market.  Wal-Mart must
compete with other similar stores such as K-Mart and Target and
ShopKo.  It must also compete with other stores that carry particular
items that Wal-Mart carries.  For example, Wal-Mart must compete
with stores like Best Buy and Staples in selling electronics.  It must
compete with internet retailers like Amazon in a number of areas.
Because there is so much competition, Wal-Mart cannot be
considered a monopoly.
3.Briefly tell the story of how this entrepreneur or entrepreneurs started
this business. How has it changed the economy?
Leadership through servive was the principal in wich sam waltons created
Walmart but that was not his first business. He first open walton’s 5 and
10 in bentoville and since sam saw the success he decided to open an
other business and that one was Walmart.
Walmart open its doors in 1962 in roger, Arkansas. Walmart was a big
success because of his lower prices and that make mr sam wanted to
expand. He implement technology retails and he wanted to add more
products to the inventory. He also experiment with creating new format
such as sam’s club and Walmart super center. So after approximately a
year he decided he wanted expand the market to mexico

4.What are the constraints on pricing on the good or servicethe business

sells

has I being saying something that make Walmart one of the biggest
companies is that it sells its products for lower prices compere to his
competitor and also something really important is that it gives a lot of
discount does not matter if you have a coupon or you don’t have it the
company gives you the discount.
So for this to happened something that Walmart did was to make contrats
with foreign supplier so that their import cost was a lower price and that
can make possible ?
for Walmart to sell some of their products sheaper than other companies.
In early years Walmart buyed most of its products from asia and now
china is one of its biggest suppliers.

5.What is the demand and supply situation for the product or service?Pick
atleast 2 recent demand shifters and 2 supply shifters.
https://www.cnbc.com/2020/04/09/walmart-hires-100000-to-meet-surging-demand-during-
coronavirus-pandemic.html

in actuallity we can say that with the pandemic that the world is facing there are a lot of supplies
that the people are demanding but mostly is toilet paper, hand sanitizer, and more frequently hair
color. The 2 recent demand sifhter are buyers and income because there is a lot of people that
want to buy these products. First because the need it and even if they don’t they would buy it
because they are afraid of the virus.

The 2 recent supply shifters are other goods and expectations. Since the virus started they are
willing to buy everything that can prevent them for getting the virus and with this some people are
taking advantages because they buy enormous amount of paper that they probably will not need
and they sell it for double the price.
