LAS-13 Math10

The document provides a learning activity sheet for a mathematics lesson on logarithmic functions, which are the inverse of exponential functions. It includes examples of converting between exponential and logarithmic forms, as well as exercises for students to practice writing exponential equations as logarithmic forms and vice versa. The activity aims to help students illustrate logarithmic functions and become responsible and wise decision makers.

I. Concept/Digest
A logarithmic function is the inverse of an exponential function. An inverse means we solve
the equation for x.

II. EXAMPLE
y
The inverse of y = 2x (is x = 2 (x equals 2 to the y power). This, in turn, is equal to y = log 2 x
(logarithm to the base 2 of x).
Express the following into logarithmic form
1. 24=16 log216=4
3
2. 3 =27 log327=3
Express the following into exponential form
1. log416=2 42=16
2. log2x=4 24=x

III. EXERCISES
A. Write each exponential equation in logarithmic form.

1. 92  81 2. 3  27
3
3. x  1
0

B. Write each logarithmic equation in exponential form.

log 1 8  3
4. log10 10  1 5. log12 144  2 6. 2

C. Evaluate by using mental math (THIS MEANS SHOW YOUR WORK!)

7. log3 27 8. log 1 9. log 7 49 10. log 2 8
