    'BLUESCREEN' EXPLORED

    INSTALLATION :
    • Install Keil uvision4 using the mdk402.exe file provided in the folder.
    • Execute uVision 4 from the Start Menu or the Desktop
    GOTO File -> License Management...
    Copy the Computer ID field (CID).
    • To crack the professional version, first disable all the protection by your antivirus and
    then open the rar file Keil-uVision-v8.12-C51.rar .
    • Open the crack software licgen-v32.exe .
    • Select the following -
    In the MCU type, choose -ARM
    In the right list, choose Prof. Developers Kit
    In the bellow list, choose With computer ID code
    Select the V2 item
    Select External CID code
    Paste the previously copied CID
    Press Generate
    Copy the generated LIC0= field
    Ignore the SN= field
    • GOTO the License Management of uVision
    Paste the license generated with the licgen in the New License ID Code (LIC) field Press <Add
    Lic> . Press <Close>.
    • Exit from uVision. Exit from license generator.
    Enjoy!!!
    • PS- If the generated license expires in a few days,generate another license number with
    many years of Support Period.

    CREATING PROJECT IN KEIL :


    • Open uVision4 from desktop.
    • GOTO ->File → Device Database
    • GOTO-> NXP(founded by Philips)-> LPC2378. Double click on that and you ll get the
    whole detail of the IC LPC2378.
    NOTE- If the IC is not available at this point you may be using wrong version of Keil uVision.
    It may not support ARM processors.
    • Press <ADD> if its not done so, else Press <Update> and then <ADD>.If it asks for
    overwrite , do that and <Close> this window.
    • GOTO->Flash-> Configure Flash Tools-> Device->LPC2378. Press<OK>
    GOTO->Flash-> Configure Flash Tools->Output->Tick <Create hex file>.Press<OK>.
    This Flash utility is used for direct loading the flash of microcontroller from Keil uVision. But I
    used Flash Magic which is easier to handle. You may use any .
    NOTE- If the IC is not available at this point you may be using wrong version of Keil uVision.
    It may not support ARM processors.
    Replace the file LPC2300.s from the one given by the CD.
    • After the above settings , GOTO->

    USING FLASH MAGIC:


    • Install Flash Magic. Open it from Desktop.
    • STEP-1
    Press <Select Device>
    GOTO-> ARM7->LPC2378-> OK
    Select COM PORT you are using.(If you are in doubt use Brays Terminal to decide on this.)
    Select Baud Rate (Try to keep it below 38400).
    Interface->None(ISP).
    Oscillator-12 MHz.
    Note- This block is important. Do not exceed oscillator freq greater than 12Mhz as it may
    damage your device.20 Mhz is used by JTAG interface ,but I used RS232/USART0 and serial
    port which uses ISP interface with 12.0 MHz frequency.
    • STEP-0- You may not find this Step on your Flash Magic Screen but it is the most
    essential one. After connecting all the connections of your Bluescreen and your
    hardware ( RS232 to TTL convertor- Schematic provided) properly,
    GOTO->ISP->Read Device Signature.
    If Operation Failed comes Your device is not connected .
    Try to connect it by the following steps-
    a)Check that your external hardware has LED ON or not. If its not you must reverse the ISP
    connections.
    b)Check whether you have provided the jumper J1 (PROG)of the Bluescreen.
    c) Select the baud rate 9600. Remove the USB cable and connect it again every time you
    choose a different baud rate.
    d) If your connections are right and you use higher or lower baud rate following error will be
    shown-
    “Unable to communicate.(configuration)Ensure no other application are using the COM port.
    Try raising or lowering the baud rate.”
    When such an error appears shift the baud rate to 9600 , remove power(USB) and again plug it
    on and try to check again.
    Do the above steps until you get the following details-

    Device Id-0x1700FD25(could vary)


    Bootloader Version -3.3(could vary)
    ◦ Your device is then detected by flash magic.
    • STEP-2
    Although you can click on any of the option, prefer to Erase blocks used by hex file only
    • STEP-3
    Choose the hex file made by uVision compiler for your project.
    • STEP-4
    Uncheck all options.
    • Step-5
    Press <START>

    TROUBLESHOOTING:
    • If your hex file is made correctly and you are not able to burn it by flash magic you will
    see the following error-
    “Operation Failed .Failed to autobaud. Step 1.........”
    This will occur when either your hardware has not connected properly or you have used an
    unsuitable baud rate. Follow Step-0 again to fix this.
