High School

High School was a whirlpool of emotions. It was a fun time which most of us take for

granted. As we now look back on our time here, it is easy to see the blessing that this school has

been for so many of us. There are so many ways to describe it and so many different experiences,

but I chose to write about it as challenging, fleeting, and, overall, happy.

Each year brought their own challenges. Freshman year was all about meeting new

people and growing new friendships. Sophomore year was quite relaxed although that was the

year that I primarily learned to drive. There were not many decisions that had to be made then.

As Junior year rolled around, I began to feel pressure to figure out my life. I did a lot of research

and decided on a career path and college. As a Senior, it is necessary that I keep my grades up

and apply for scholarships to make college more affordable.

On top of the yearly challenges, I also worked as much as possible. I have had many

different jobs over the past four years. I am always juggling several jobs as well as babysitting to

keep myself as busy as possible without being unable to keep up with my schoolwork. My goal

is to graduate college debt free. It is an ambitious goal, but it is one that I will work toward with

as much vigor and determination as I can muster.

Although there have been many different challenges that I have faced in my highschool

years, I have been quite happy and at peace. I find myself thinking back to good times in the past

and every time I am reminded of how blessed I am to be able to come to this school everyday.

Even now, in that last year of this chapter of my life, I am thoroughly enjoying the organized

freedom that we are given as we become older. There were times that I did not feel I had the

strength to drag myself through the mundane schedule of the day, but I made it. Each unique
challenge that I have overcome in my four years at Covenant has taught me something and given

me my own peerless experience.

The years seem to have come and gone in a minute leaving me with not much more than

knowledge and memories. Everyone tells you that it goes fast. The common advice from the

seniors is to enjoy every bit of it because it doesn’t last as long as you think. And isn’t that true!

Now I’m a senior and I am excited for what my life will be after graduation, but it is bittersweet.

I’m not sure I want to grow up quite yet. I am thoroughly enjoying school because I know that I

will not have this privilege for much longer.

The four short years of highschool do not last forever. Cherish the time left. Find

happiness in it even if you are struggling to overcome an obstacle placed in your path. High

School is a very emotional time as we all change into young men and women. We will all have

different experiences. Hopefully our actions will make others' lives better.
