watching now, good morning. I am beyond words before writing this speech. To our dear
parents, teachers, relatives, friends, buddies and of course my fellow graduates – good
morning!
Today is a milestone in our life not just as a student but as a dreamer and as a goal setter,
and to tell you honestly, --- I am beyond words – I can’t describe the joy and the feeling of
fulfillment that– finally, it’s graduation day!
The coronavirus pandemic has caused many high school graduations be replaced with
virtual and other alternative graduations ceremonies such as our graduation now. Part of
us is sad because we didn’t have a formal graduation rites like we used to have, but we
should still be grateful that after all the storms we finally did it(save natin ito sa end ng speech).
The COVID-19 worldwide pandemic has caused to transform an old-school type of
graduation rites into a new normal-tech-based form of graduation ceremony, though a
part of me feels sad that I don’t get to see my classmates face-to-face in this momentous
event however, the feeling of being grateful and blessed has left a tattoo in my heart – that
in every bad things – bigger and better things are up for grab!
I still remember the jokes of some teachers when I was in Grade 11. Sir Allan told us that
he is the Inigo Pascual of Bonuan Buquig National High School while Sir John Rey said that
he is the most handsome teacher. Being a student of him, I need to agree with that. These
treasure memories are missed. I can still remember my Physical Science teacher, Sir Allan
Jay Daligdig – saying that he is the “Iñ igo Pascual” of Bonuan Boquig NHS, while my
adviser – Sir John Rey Silang, said that he is the “HANDSOMEST TEACHER EVERRRR”! Oh!
Well… inorder to survive senior high (give a naughty smile) -technically, I need to actually agree
with them (hahahah). The truth – I do miss their handsome faces teaching us at the four
corners of our room.
Our senior high school journey is full of ups and downs. We have good and bad memories
that both molded us as an individual and as a person in relation to another. We receive
tons of challenges but we all use it as our motivation to continue and prove that even in
dark times we manage to see the right path to exit. We receive tons of challenges but
hurdling them one by one made us who we are right now – accomplished and motivated.
We receive hundreds of no’s and few yeses but those few yeses makes us stronger and
now, we are one step closer to our dreams despite of COVID-19 Pandemic. We receive a
hundreds of No’s and just a few Yes’ but that doesn’t stopped us from reaching our dreams
– it even gave us a stronger heart and a smarter mind.
We made up our experiences and memories, and those experiences and memories molds
us to be our self now, but the best part is that we’re not done yet because we will continue
to create own story.
As we move on from this place and go to our next journey of life whether that’s college,
workforce or something else, life will at some point begins to feels like it’s going too fast. I
would like to leave you a piece of advice to don’t wait for tomorrow what you can do today
because you will never know if there’s still tomorrow for you.
Always remember that all the things we have today and the story we have written is the
result of love and support of our parents and family. They never gave up on us. So, fellow
graduates let us take this moment to hug them and even give them a kiss and say “Thank
you and I love you Mama, Papa, Daddy, Mommy, Tatay, Nanay, Inay, Itay .” I know that you
are our No. 1 fan – our No. 1 supporter.
I also want to thank my best friends especially to k4bubu for always being there for me,
for being part of my life and for all the support. I love you all guys and let’s continue to
create good memories.
Also, an appreciation message is not enough for all the sacrifices and support of our
teachers. You have played a major role for all of us to move on into the next phase of our
life. To all our dear teachers, we love you to the stars and back.
Above all, this achievement is not possible without the guidance of Jehovah God because
we know apart from you Lord we are nothing.
Before I end this speech I would like to say that our Senior High School life is like
Accounting - the credits are the negative while the debits are the positive. Yes it should be
balance because an absolute negative or positive is dangerous.
Always remember that you will just be defeated when you give up, not when you fail.
Never compare yourself to anyone. No one can play your role better than you. Never stop
pursuing your dream while continuously dreaming. We must not forget that Senior High
School graduation is not the end goal but it is just a start of a new beginning.
Today, a new chapter is about to start and when it does – let us be there and let that
moment be an opportunity that unfolds the better version of ourself - for our family, for
our community and above all – for God’s greatest glory.
Once again, thank you to all of you for being part of this beautiful journey. Again, endless
gratitude from BBNHS-SHS batch 2020-2021 to everyone who, one way or another, have
been part of our beautiful journey.
Batch 2021, let us all shout, “COVID ka lang! Survivor Kami! – Finally, We did it!”
