Everyone has the right to the path of knowledge, but only few like me, have the
privilege to walk on this path with a mentor like my respected guide,
DR. R. B. Subramanian, professor, BRD School of Biosciences, Sardar Patel
University, Vallabh Vidyanagar. He has always been a role model for me about
the dedication towards science; his perservance infused me with confidence to
keep moving towards the targeted goal in my research work. It was his
continuous support which never let me felt low during ups and downs of my
way towards successful research work. It’s my humble duty to thank him along
with the deep sense of gratitude for his valuable supervision and constant
guidance throughout my Ph D. It was his support without which I might not have
finished the work.
I thank both Subramanian Sir and Darshan Sir for being such wonderful
teachers and exemplary role models. Thank you for sharing your knowledge,
for showing acceptance, approval and appreciation. These were all gifts that
were immensely important to my development as a research student, and that I
will always remember, just as I will always remember you.
i
encouragement, valuable suggestions and blessings during the course of my
research work. A word of gratitude goes to the rest of the staff of the
Department for their whole hearted co-operation.
I would like to thank all my present lab-mates, Dr. Pritesh Parmar, Ankit Sudhir
and Ketan Panchal for their affectionate company and co-operation throughout
the research work. I am also thankful to Avinash and Sujit for their friendly
company and help during the research work.
I could really sail through the rough storms with the everlasting and
unconditional friendship of my dear friends, Malay Katariya, Chirag Patel,
Gopal Yadav and Arpit Virani who have given me the strength and motivation in
their own special ways which are very dear to me.
Thanks are also due to Dr. Vishal Oza, Dr. Sandip Chovatiya and Dr. Dhaval
Joshi for guiding me towards research after completion of masters and
welcoming me with warmth and affection every time I visited them.
To me God exists in the form of parents, and I feel blessed to have been loved,
cared, brought up and educated by two of the most wonderful human beings I
have ever known, my Ma and Papa who have given their guidance in every
faltering step and whose strong beliefs inspire me to work more harder be more
responsible. I am at loss of words for the unflinching support, love and care
offered by my dear Brother (Mandar Bhai) and Sister in law (Neha Bhabhi), they
are always there for me like my Junior parents.
Last but not the least, I am thankful to destiny for giving me the most important
person in my life without whom I am incomplete: my fiancée (Neha), who has
ii
been a true friend, philosopher and guide and who nurtured the ambition of
making a doctorate out of me. Her sacrifices are invaluable and she has shown
utmost patience in dealing with my frustrations for which I also want to
apologize.
Finally I want to thank GOD who has made an average person that much
capable and given immense strength and ability to stand still in tough times.
