INTRODUCTIONss
This learning activity sheet is especially written and designed for special learner like
you. In here, you will be given special opportunity to learn how to perform Foot Spa. The
scope of this module rotates on the proper procedure be equipped with the proper skills.

At the end of the lesson, the learner is expected to:


1. Analyze the condition of foot nails
2. Observe safety precautions in applying foot spa to clients
3. Perform foot spa following the prescribed procedure according to Occupational
Health and Safety requirements

performing foot spa to his/her client? Or have you experience enjoying the service?

As a beauty care student, you need to learn how to perform foot spa for you to be fully
equipped with all the skills that beauty care comprises.

Foot spa is a relaxing and effective technique that caters with all the demands of the
feet. Foot spa is beneficial because of the following reasons: First, blood circulation is
improved by Foot spa. Second, it helps in relieving stress. Third, it helps in getting rid of the
tensions in muscles and joints. Fourth, it helps in reducing headaches. Fifth, acidity and
indigestion can also be treated by foot spa. Sixth, it helps in getting proper sleep therefore
reducing the symptoms of insomnia. And lastly, it helps in detoxification.

Always remember that when a client makes an appointment for a foot spa, you should
tell his/her how long the treatment will take. Also ask the client if she is currently receiving
treatment from a chiropodist (the person who deals with the medical care and treatment of the
human foot.) If this precaution is not taken, there is a danger of cross infection where both nail
technician and clients may contract and spread disease.
