Hiring Commercial Pilots
The hiring criteria for commercial pilots of airline according to the Pakistan Civil Aviation
Authority:
A certificate or a license is issued to the person who is assigned for the job. It ensures that
the relevant person has the required experience, skills and knowledge for that job. Deputy
Director General of CAA has the licensing authority. Personal licensing is also issued by
licensing authority. It first checks the eligibility criteria, participant’s medical record,
required training (appropriate ground course, flying course, on job training) completion.
Applicants should have passed CAA exams and skill tests. CPL (Commercial Pilot License) is

Flying training activities’ license has two categories i.e. Class I and Class II. Class 1 is up to
PPL (Public Private License) where Class II is above PPL that is CPL (Commercial Pilot
License) and above that means flying school instructing training above PPL. Flying school

Shaheen Air: The requirement of Shaheen airlines for commercial pilots is CPL License
from their own Institute i.e. Shaheen Air Flying Training School (SAFTS).
