Correlation SRB Problem Set

This document contains 10 statics problems involving rigid bodies, trusses, centroids, friction, forces, and moments of inertia. Students are asked to determine forces, reactions, centroids, moments of inertia, and whether structural members are in tension or compression. The problems cover key concepts in engineering mechanics including methods of joints, sections, and calculating reactions for beams and trusses.

Problem 1: Determine the smallest horizontal force P required

to lift the 200-kg crate. The coefficient of static friction at all
contacting surfaces is 𝜇s = 0.3. Neglect the mass of the wedge.

heaviest block C that can be supported as shown.

Problem 8: Determine the force (magnitude and

direction) which member BC exerts on member AB if the
900N load is applied to the center of member AB.
Problem 4: If the magnitude of the resultant force acting on
the eyebolt is 600N and its direction measured clockwise from
the positive x-axis is Ø=30°, determine the magnitude of F1
and the angle Ø.

Problem 10: The upper beam in fig. is supported at D

and a roller at C which separates the upper and
lower beams. Determine the values of the reactions
at A, B, C and D. Neglect the weight of the beams.
