How to Assemble:

1.  Laminate all the pages.
2.  Cut each page along the thick black border and down the middle line EXCEPT the
last page (page 7). This will be the back of the book and will hold the pictures on it.
3.  Cut out the individual pictures for the picture bank (on page 3).
4.  Put Velcro on all the empty squares on the book pages and on the empty squares
on the picture bank page (page 7).
5.  Put the opposite side of the Velcro on the back of the picture squares themselves.
Attach the pictures to the picture bank page. Mix up the order of the pictures.
6.  Bind however you would like (binding machine, binder rings). If you choose binder
rings, be sure to hole punch each page in 1, 2, or 3 places depending on preference.

How to Use the Book:

This book can be use to target basic emotions and matching skill. Have the student
match the faces on the Christmas trees. You can ask the open ended question if the
child is able to produce a response. This part of the book is great for articulation
students at the carryover level, social skills students, and general expressive
language kiddos!

Discuss what facial features of the tree help you to know how he is feeling. For
example, I can tell the tree is feeling mad because his eyebrows are pointing down
and he is frowning.

Laminate this page. Cut off this half of the page and cut apart the small
squares. Put Velcro on the back to attach to the picture bank page. The left
side of this page is your book cover.
