1. Information about the child’s health and personal routines are initially gathered at enrolment. How is this
information maintained and updated?
Initially when the child is enrolled at the service, their family completes an enrolment form which includes
information about their child’s health and personal routines. Information gathered is kept on file and may
include.
Allergies,
Medication requirements
Illnesses,
Dietary needs or restrictions,
Immunization status,
Doctor’s name and contact details
Current emergency contact numbers, name and contact details of a nominated authorized person,
Abilities and level of independence.
This information is maintained through scheduled record updates and regular ongoing information
sharing between educators and parents during drop-off and pick-up times.
2. How can we communicate hygiene practices with children, families and staff? List 3 ways.
2- Explain our written guidelines to staff and parents as part of their orientation program.
3. What are the steps we should take to minimise the risk of infectious disease and injury for children in the
service?
To minimise the risk of infectious disease and injury for children, you can take simple steps such as :
1- Ensuring that children are in groupings that are not overcrowded
3- Ventilating rooms

1- Identify the purpose of the excursion- How does it link to the curriculum? (EYLF, NQS: etc.)

a. Identify risks and hazards- consider means of travel, access to facilities, site safety, etc.

c. Decide on appropriate controls
Complete the management plan and seek approval from management.
6. According the Education and Care National Service Regulations, how often should the emergency and
evacuation drills be conducted?
Our service’s licensing regulations will stipulate how often we need to practice evacuation drills. We need
to ensure that these are practice by all workers and all children and we need to document these.
