1. FUNCTION AND APPLICATION
5XZS-10DS Air Screen Cleaner with Gravity Table is professional grain seed processing equipment. It
combines bucket elevator, air cleaning system, gravity separator, vibratory sieving separator. This machine
adpots horizontal vibrating air screen technology. Compared to vertical air screen, it is higher performance
on cleaning effect and air volume utilization.
5XZS series machine is suitable for cereal, grain, bean, seed air cleaning, gravity separating, grading and
bagging. During processing, it will remove light impurities, big & small impurity, and unfilled grain, etc. It
is also used in commercial grain fine separation. It can remove the rotten, moldy, insect damaged, sickness
seeds, spout seeds, sprout seeds etc. The machine is widely used different type grain cleaning and grading
after exchanging to different sieves in vibratory sieving trunk.
2. SAFETY NOTICE
Electrical
1) Connect protective earth line according to the marking, double check the earth line before operation.
2) Please find a certified electrician to run electrical safety test before first time operation to ensure the
safety.
3) Do NOT operate in relative higher humidity environment
Operation
1) Switch
i. Please read the manual and safety mark carefully if using this machine for the first time and before
switch on.
NOTE: please remove the fixing plate before operate and keep it in the safe place for the next
use.
ii. Checking all the screw, bolt and fixing parts are fixed tightly, if not please screw tightly.
iii. Place the machine at a flat surface as working site, adjust supporting frame structure horizontally
balanced by using 6 lead screws and release the vertical pressure from tyres for the best result.
2) During Operation
a) Do NOT fill large debris or entanglements into hopper of elevator
b) When the elevator running, Do NOT stretch hand or any body part into filling hopper
c) Unplug only at when huller in the switch off condition
d) Do NOT stand in front of ventilation fan air outlet or block it during the operation
e) To prevent the blockage of the air flow, clear entanglements on the protective mesh at the
ventilation fan air outlet. Do NOT open or take off the protective mesh.
f) Suspend operation when technical failure happens. It is highly prohibited to clear fault during the
operation.
g) Switch off and unplug the machine if power cut happens to prevent the breakdown of the machine
and the potential accident.
h) Before operation should make sure machine is in good technical condition. Check all parts are
well connected, without scraping, grinding machine, hit, hit and so on, not left a hard debris.
i) Install all the belt covers before start machine.
j) Except the operator, other staff not allowed to feed material. Operator would wear masks and
glasses, and fastened cuffs, skirts, etc., lesbians should wear tightly braided hair or wear a work
hat.
k) Follow unified command, make signal before start.
l) Cutting off the power when check machine or cleaning workplace.
m) Raw material shall not be mixed with hard miscellaneous and other debris. Operator would
continuously feed, and can not be forced ramming pressure.
n) When bearing overheating exceeds 60 ℃ (hot) should stop and check
3) After Switch Off The Machine

i. Unplug the main power to prevent the potential accident
ii. Please unload the machine and store the machine into a dry storage if the machine will not operate
for a relative long period
4) Transportation
For transportation, please adjust 6 lead screws to the highest position, and fix the body and the
supporting frame together tightly by using the fixing plate. All type of vehicles are capable to haul
the machine. Please keep the front frame rise slightly higher during the transportation. The speed
limit is 10km/hr.
3. WORKING PROCEDURE
⚫ Control Interface
The Control Interface includes: Power Distribution Box, Air sieve control handle, Air damper baffle plate
control handle, Grain separator control handle.

⚫ Operation Procedure
a) Adjust the lead screws to the highest position, tighten the sieving separator and supporting frame
by using transportation connector to prevent damage rubber springs。Any type of vehicle is
capable to haul the machine. The speed limit is 10km/hr.
b) Place the machine at a flat surface as working site, adjust supporting frame structure horizontally
balanced by using 6 lead screws and release the vertical pressure from tyres for the best result.
c) Take off the transportation connector (yellow steel plate) before switching on the machine and
keep it for the next time use. Double check all the joints and connections of the machine and
tighten the loosing part.
d) Plug in and turn switch on, check the rotate direction of all parts of the machine, elevator working
clockwise when you facing it. Ventilation fan (air blower) works clockwise when you face on the
motor of the air blower. There are two vibration motor works in difference direction at the side
of sieve trunk (one rotate direction is clockwise, other is counter-clockwise). The rotate directions
normally set correctly at the factory, if the rotate direction of any part is incorrect after the power
connected, please swap the power lead, if the rotate direction of any part is correct so all part
should be correct.
e) The start up step will be switch on Main power (then) →Small sieving trunk → Gravity table air
blower + Gravity vibration table + Air closer → top air blower →Main sieving trunk vibration
motor → bucket elevator. Then fill in grains into the inlet hopper of the elevator, take off the
baffle plate which at the inside of the inlet hopper, and then the cleaning process start. Working
procedure is the same If doing grain grading, but you need to replace appropriate sieve and
control filling volume.
f) For the switch off procedure, turn off bucket elevator → Main sieving trunk vibration motor →
top air blower → Gravity table air blower + Gravity vibration table + Air closer → Small sieving
trunk → Main power. (Reverse order to the start up procedure)

6. PARTS INTRODUCTION

6.1 Bucket elevator
1) Application
Transfer materials (grains). Available in both fixed and movable version to adapt different working
environment.
2) Configuration ( Refer to elevator diagram please see figure 3)

Elevator form from stand, head, barrel, driving device, device of tractive inlet hopper, inlet hopper,
material guiding tube. It has compact structure, user friendly interface, movable, easy to maintain,
energy saving, easy to clean, efficiently avoid mixture.
3) Regulation for safety operation

a) Double check the joints on the elevator, tighten the loosing part and make sure the running parts
of the elevator operate smooth and without collision.
b) Adjusting panel at the inlet hopper controls the filling volume, fix it by bolt when position to the
right place (Refer to Fig 2.2)
c) If the belt deflected or slipping, adjust the big bolt at both side of the elevator stand (Refer to Fig
3.3)
d) If the triangle belt slipping, pull down the motor and tighten the bolt. (Refer to Fig 2.1)
e) To prevent mixture with different species of grain, please take out the bottom plate, and then take
out the rest grain and clean it, at end put the bottom plate back (Refer to Fig 2.2)
f) Switch on the elevator then fill the grain. After filling stop, keep the elevator running for a short
time that for make sure no grain left over in the hopper

6.2 Small sieving trunk (used for quick remove the large and small impurities, two sieve
layers)
1) Configuration ( Refer to figure 3) and functions
Separator includes grain inlet box, main sieving trunk, sieve tray，discharging box and vibration
motor, four set of rubber springs fix the separator on the supporting frame.

It used for quick remove the large and small impurities, and has two sieve layers. Grain fall into grain inlet
box then under the vibration the grain flow to the two-layer sieving trunk, following the grains well-
proportioned enter to the upper layer sieve via the rubber curtain. Selected grains will fall into the next lower
sieving panel after sieving, chaff and debris blocked by sieves and transfer to the outlet of large impurity. The
selected grains will fall into the bottom layers for removing the small impurity.
Use different sieve to different process of different type of grains. The observing windows on the sieving trunk
are for checking operation.
2) Transportation
Before transportation, use fixing plate (please see fig 4) and bolt tighten rubber springs, four sets of rubber
springs are suppressed onto supporting frame by the separator (Main sieving trunk). Take off the fixing plate
and bolt of the rubber springs before operation and keep it for the next time use in transportation.

3)Setting
A. Set flow volume control unit
Release eight bolts (The blot 8 please see figure 4) at both side of the supporting frame, move triangle plate
(angle plate) of rubber springs up and down, plate connects rubber spring at same angle as separator
connects supporting frame, after set to needed angle of needed flow volume, tighten bolts. Default setting of
flow volume control unit is at 3°.
B. Set Amplitude: vibration motor
Take off wind cover at both ends of vibration motor, fan shaped metals for producing vibration appears
(please see figure 5). Loose bolt, set angle A between the two fan shaped metals. Amplitude increase when
angle A increased, vice versa. Maximum amplitude is at 180°, 0 amplitude at 0°. Tighten bolts after set angle
between fan shaped metals.

NOTE:
i. The two angles of two fan shaped metals in two ends of vibration motor that must be
same, and the metals at both ends of axes must be overlaid.
ii. According to the centre of separator as axes, fan shaped metals of motors at both side
of separator are symmetrical (Refer to fig 6)
iii. The rotating directions of the two vibration motors must be different (Refer to
fig 6), set amplitude range 0 – 6 mm. Default setting of amplitude range 4.5
– 4.7 mm.

C.Set rotate direction angle
The angle α is between the axes of vibration motor and separator (Main sieving trunk) (Refer to fig 5) Loose
bolt c, turning setting pan according to the degree indicating then tighten bolt c.
Set vibration direction angle to range 0 - 45°. 20-45° for normal use. Default setting is 20° - 30°. Please double
check motors at both side of separator are symmetrical
D.Guide of indication/signal board (IB) setting

Indication board (IB) is for measuring vibrative power of the vibration motors, IB is fixed at left of the
separator, there are 4 lined circles represent the direction of vibration (Refer to fig 7 OA Line). During the
vibrating, connecting line of the circle centre overlay together as one straight line (please see fig 8.1). The
indicating between the line from IB centre O to Line OB is the angle of α (please see fig 7). This α is equal to
the angle α between axes of vibration motor and separator (refer to fig 5). If the connecting line of the circle
centre does not overlay together as one straight line (please see fig 8.2 and 8.3), please loose the bolt and rotate
IB to the right place Tighten the bolts after the correction.
IB indicating line D (Refer to fig 5) represents the range of amplitude. Amplitude line C intersect with
indicating line D, the value at the intersection is the current amplitude 4.7mm.

E.Replace sieves
The steps are take off outlet box first, loose four knobs at both sides of the separator (Main sieving trunk),
then take out the sieves, take off two sets of butterfly nuts, then, take off the 4 sieve bars (for each sieve) which
for press the screen on the sieve tray, and replace the screen from it, then put the 4 sieve bars back and tighten
the 4 knobs, assemble the outlet box back in last step.
The efficiency of the separator depends on many factors which main also affect the function of use, adjusting
is the main factor, operator will master the control from the operating experience
6.3 Air Cleaning System
From the observation window, observe the status of material air suction. According to the user's needs, to
adjust the space of wind screen (the opening size of top and bottom), normally for light seed such as sesame
that need top wider and bottom narrow of the windsieve, also need adjust the total air volume.
1) Double check the joints on Wind sieve, tighten the loosing part and avoid sieving parts in wrong
position.
2) Make sure air blower working stable, make sure air and grain pipe airproof and free flowing.
3) To the different materials (grains), use compatible air volume and speed. The handle may need to be
adjusted depend on type of grain you want to process.
4) According to the different material, adjusting the suitable air volume and wind speed. Factory setting:
handle is set to 0 ° above (see figure 12 a), below the opening X to 70-90 - mm (see figure 12 b).
5) According to the different material the user need adjust the total air volume which handle place at the
air tunnel.

6.4 Gravity Table
1) Basic information
Specific gravity table is separating the impurities from the material according to the difference of specific
gravity for machining materials, so it is particularly suitable for the separation of the materials in similar sizes.
Specific gravity table can separate materials according to petty difference on specific gravity of the materials,
so the materials after processing they will have the optimal physical quality and strongest germinating power.
In order to get the optimal result, all the setting and regulating must be reasonable, and have certain purpose
when there is a regulation each time. Every time you can just adjusting one part, before you receive result of
this time adjusted, you can’t adjusting other part.
This machine is according to segregation phenomenon of granule and density under fluidization process, for
achieve materials delaminating and mutual exchange, at the same time the wind pressure and table angle need
be adjusted. Specific gravity separator is used to classify materials according to density or specific
gravity. This is important when seed and/or impurities are similar in size but different in density. The
separator uses a vibrating perforated deck that can be tilted in one direction at various pitches. Air moving
through the perforated deck separates the seed and any impurities by weight as the deck oscillates.
This machine widely uses in the seed processing and the agricultural products processing, has good separating
effects on beans, grain seed, tree seed, cotton seed, oilseed, vegetable seed and so on, it can remove blighted
seed, budding seed, damaged seed (by insect), rotten seed, deteriorated seed, moldy seed, non-viable seed,
seed with black powder sick and seed with shell. Finally the vigor and viable seed will be obtained, after the
selecting of specific gravity separators, and the seed germination rate and cleaning degree will increase as
well. This machine is good for the seeds of beans, wheat, maize, paddy rice, cotton, sorghum, legumes, rape,
vegetables, Chinese pine, larch, spruce and so on.
2) Working principle
The sifting bed surface for specific gravity cleaning machine has certain tilting angle on the direction of long
side. We call them respectively horizontal tilting angle. When it works, the sifting bed does reciprocating
vibration under the driving mechanism, and then the seeds fall on the sifting bed. Under the fan airflow from
the bottom, the seeds on sifting bed begin to separate, the heavier ones fall down the under layer of the
materials, also the seeds will move upward on the vibrating direction by the action of sifting bed vibration.
And the lighter seeds float on the upper layer of the materials and cannot contact with the sifting bed surface
because there is a horizontal tilting angle on the surface. Moreover, due to the action of sifting bed vertical
tilting angle, as the sifting bed vibrates, also the air blowing under the seed, so good seed (heavy seed) will
climbing up, and the bad seed (light seed) will going to the lower point of the table, finally discharge from
separate outlet.
3) Adjusting
Air volume adjustment is the most important of gravity separation machine. The most common mistake is to
use too much air. Separation is not "blown away" the light seed, it is using air flow to make the seed layering
(heavy seed in bottom and light seed at top), and then according with the table vibration to separating. Excess
air will produce boiling effect, then the heavy seed will going up then mix with light seed. Low air volume
will lead to bad seed movement, then seed will block at the upper position of the table. Adjusting to right air
volume, then the seed layer will in smooth moving status. Boiling status should be maintain in minimum,
make the vibration table can produce separation.
When seed fills on the table and cover the whole table, seed must be in flowing status on the table:
1. If the seed not going to the bottom position, and light seed with heavy seed all going up that you need adjust
the handle (6) for make the air flow even, lead to the seed in bottom position that has little boiling, if not good,
please increase the opening of air gate (12), then lead to seed flowing in the whole table.
2. If seed couldn’t cover the whole table and the heavy seed not going up, please increase feeding amount.
3. If seed boiling too big that mean air volume is too big, please reduce the opening of air gate (12).

6.5 Vibratory sieve separator (Main sieving trunk)

1) Configuration ( Refer to figure 13) and functions
Separator includes grain inlet box, main sieving trunk, sieve tray，discharging box and vibration
motor, four set of rubber springs fix the separator on the supporting frame.

Grain fall into grain inlet box after air sieving, and then under the vibration the grain flow to the
multi-layer sieving trunk, following the grains well-proportioned enter to the upper layer sieve via
the rubber curtain. Selected grains will fall into the next lower sieving panel after sieving, chaff and
debris blocked by sieves and transfer to the outlet of large impurity. The selected grains will fall into
the lower layers sieving panels, that can remove the small impurities. Selected grains flow to the
outlets of good grain, fill into bag hung on the bag holder. Cap of outlets can be used when shift
bagging that means the cap can be close when you change the bag. It is the whole work flow for the
separator.
Use different sieve to different process of different type of grains. The observing windows on the
sieving trunk are for checking operation.
2) Transportation
Before transportation, use fixing plate (please see fig 14) and bolt tighten rubber springs, four sets of
rubber springs are suppressed onto supporting frame by the separator (Main sieving trunk). Take off
the fixing plate and bolt of the rubber springs before operation and keep it for the next time use in
transportation.

3) Setting

one straight line (please see fig 18.2 and 18.3), please loose the bolt and rotate IB to the right
place Tighten the bolts after the correction.

E. Replace sieves

7. MAINTENANCE
The machinery maintenance includes daily and regular maintenance, checking on precision, maintenance for
cooling system and add lubricant is very important.
a) Lubricate every each lubricator port for every 3 months, lubricate on the bearing of elevator head of hoister
and stand.
a) Lubricate joints like supporting lead screw, bolt at the key nodes and nut after use in the working season.
Examine and maintenance all motors after functionally working time for 1 year.
b) Please unload the machine and store the machine into a dark and dry storage space if the machine will not
operate for a relative long period. Avoid wind blow, sunlight, rain and moisture. Lubricate every rotating joints,
butter sieves, use lead screw support the machine, rise tyres above the ground and release the vertical pressure
from machine to tyres.
c) Clean air blower and air transmission tube regularly to avoid rustiness.
d) Keep all tyres at the same air pressure when you inflating.
e) Comply the safety operation manual. Do NOT overload running the machine, the safety guards of the
machine are trustiness correctly, also need remove the unsafe factors in time.
