The course covers the anatomical structure and physiological processes
of the Vascualr,Peripheral and Integumentary Systems.
Objective:
1.Identify appropriate sites for venipuncture by strengthening knowledge
of the anatomy and physiology of the vascular,peripheral and
integumentary systems
Course Content:
1. Circulatory System with special emphasis on the peripheral areas:
Cephalic Vein, Basilic Vein,Median Vein and etc.
2. Integumentary System: Dermis, Epidermis,Hypodermis

Course Description:
This course presents the Laws,Rules and Regulations related to nursing
practice, ethico-legal responsibility of nurses, and the legal bases of IV
therapy training program of ANSAP.
Objectives:
1.Understand the ethico-legal implications of Intravenous Therapy within
the scope of nursing practice.
2.Understand the ethico-legal responsibilities of the nurse in IV Therapy
as mandated by law.

and regulations
3. Nursing standards on IV Therapy and Safe Practice

Course Description:
This lecture is designed to effectively utilize the nursing process in
relation to IV Therapy

1.Utilize the nursing process in the holistic care of patients undergoing IV
Therapy

Course Description:
This course focuses on safe and effective administration of medication in
intravenous therapy.
Objectives:
1.Discuss nurses responsibilities and accountabilities on intravenous drug
administration.
2.Discuss the 12 Rights of Medication Administration.
3.Calculate flow rate and IV drug dosages in children and adults.
Course Content:
-Drug commonly used in IV Therapy
-Dosage and solution,computation and flow rate calculation

Course Description:
This program is designed to enrich knowledge and understanding of the
participants on concept of fluid volume and electrolyte status.
Objectives:
1.Discuss problems and treatments commonly associated with fluids and
electrolytes imbalances.
2.Explain the need for corrective and replacement therapy in boy fluids
and electrolytes disturbances.

This course focuses on the standards in the prevention of infection in IV
Therapy

2.Discuss the importance of the culture of safety in this area.
Course Content:
Hand hygiene, management of sharps,hazardous materials and waste,use
personal protective equipment (PPE) and infusion prevention and safety
compliance.
