Family Background: I am Treesa Pious, I hail from the state of Kerala, India. My father is a farmer and my mother is a Retired Teacher. Educational & Work Background: I have good academic records throughout the span of my educational career. I have passed my 10th grade in 2012 from St Paul’s HS Valiakumaramangalam and 12th grade in 2014 from St. Antony’s Higher Secondary School, Plassanal. In 2017 May I completed my graduation in Bachelor of arts English language and literature. I have done Master of social work in medical and psychiatry from Kuriakose elias college under Mahatma Gandhi University from 2017 to 2019. After the completion of MSW in 2019, I started working as a volunteer Psychiatric social worker in Mariyasadhanam psycho social rehabilitation centre, Pala with Reg. 49/13/PRC. I performed duties include planning and facilitating individual and group therapies, like case study, counselling sessions, occupational therapies etc. Why I choose MBA? Since childhood when my friends dreamed and talked about being a doctor or engineer I always wondered who would manage them and the institution they were about to work. Once when I was on a visit to the hospital for one of my vaccination, I happen to notice my doctor report to a well-dressed person who was very pleasant and was inquiring the doctor and the personnel in the room about how everything around the facility is and how to better manage patients and provide better care. I was curious on whom this person is and so I asked my mother who is that person who manages all these doctors and she answered that he is the administrator of the hospital. Finally I knew what I wanted to be in future. On my way back home from the hospital, I flooded my mother with questions as to what should I do to become like that person I saw earlier in the hospital. As always, she answered, “Study well and you will be that person one day”. She also said that I will have to choose a career in business administration. Since that day, any business or institution I visited, I would look for administrative opportunities and how to better manage that place. A significant example of management is my mother herself, she would manage my elder brother myself and our grandma in such fashionable way. She was also good at managing finances and would always make us aware of the how importance of money management. In order for me to pursue my career in MBA, I went to school for Bachelor in Commerce. Due to family financial instability I had to give upon my regular MBA course and I was forced to do a distant MBA. Throughout my work career in Crowne Plaza Hotel, I had hands on experience with few of the administrative personnel’s and often I would volunteer to help them with some of the administrative work. My dream to be a professional administrative manager caught on to me and I soon realized that a distant MBA course was not sufficient for my future career. Hence I decided to do a regular MBA course in a well reputed college which would help me to excel in my career. Why I choose UK? As my previous education was in India, I decided to do my masters from abroad universities or institutions which are internationally recognized and whose qualification is acknowledged worldwide. So from my research based on the education system of my country I have understood that most of the other student destinations have a flexible education schedule in comparison with my country. So my search for a solid university education led me to the United Kingdom of Great Britain. The foremost reason that attracted me a lot is the internationally recognized degrees and qualifications. Besides that, upon comparison with other global study destinations such as the USA, Australia and Canada, the UK is affordable for a student like me who is from a middle class family. Moreover, the student satisfaction rating of the country excited me a lot which eventually led me to choose this target. Being an English speaking country, irrespective of the various accents I believe that it would be of great help in developing my communication skills for an appropriate future. Why I choose University of Northampton? As I decided to study in one of the UK universities on my Google search led me to university of Northampton. Also as I approached some of the recruiting agencies that send students to UK, almost all of the recommended University of Northampton. They also suggested that University of Northampton provides placement year to students, fees is affordable and is the best for international students as it’s a university that is committed to providing equality and inclusion. First and foremost reason I choose University of Northampton is because of the scholarship program offered to the students. As mentioned earlier, I am from a middle class family and if I am worthy of any of the scholarships offered by your institution it will be a great help to my finances. Second reason I chose Northampton is that, as I am far away from home in an unknown country, it will be difficult for me to find housing or it will be costly for me to live anywhere near to the university as I am a international student. University of Northampton offers halls of residence and privately owned housing at an affordable rate which will be very helpful for an international student as me. Upon a detailed analysis of the above mentioned course, I am sure that I would gain a lot of expendable skills in the field of business and administration. After finishing the course I plan to work in the United Kingdom till my post-study work visa expires so that I could gain global exposure. Subsequently, I would return to India to join a government controlled industry where I could use my skills to build up the economy of my nation. Now with a positive note I am forwarding my visa file to you. Kindly consider me towards my higher studies. Thanking you,
