ABOUT US

HotelKey is a cloud-based Property Management System designed for hospitality


Industry. We provide software solutions that are efficient, reliable, and easy to
use. Our mobile platform offers user-friendly, touch-screen technology to
support every aspect of your hotel operations. HotelKey strives to build state-of-
the-art products for the ever-expanding hospitality industry.

Anchoring its roots in Dallas, TX, HotelKey is rapidly growing, opening offices in
Europe and South Asia. HotelKey recently closed its second round of funding in
2016. Since then, HotelKey has attracted interest from independent hotels and
franchises worldwide. Our array of products and services have the operational
capacity for any size property, portfolio, or client base globally.

HOW WE STARTED

Established in 2014, founders Fareed Ahmed and Aditya Thyagarajan started


HotelKey in Silicon Valley, CA. The idea was to create an effortless user
experience to tackle operational challenges for small to mid-size hotels. Both
founders recognized that a cloud-based mobile platform was the next digital
breakthrough. Fareed, a former employee of IBM, played a vital role in the
product development. While Aditya, who previously worked for Yardi Systems,
comes with expertise in property and asset management software. Together,
with technical know-how and business acumen, they both built a comprehensive
enterprise solution.

LEADERSHIP

Fareed Ahmad, Co-Founder & CEO


Fareed is responsible for the overall company strategy, product, and engineering. A technologist at
heart, Fareed’s primary focus is to combine mobile innovation with market demands and to build the
most cost effective state-of-the-art Hotel Management Software system. Before his venture with
HotelKey, Fareed had a long and successful career at IBM. Over a 12-year span, he progressed from a
Software Engineer to Program Director; prompting many key initiatives. He led the IBM.com e-
commerce development team which generated more than $1 Billion in annual sales. Fareed also led a
BPO software solutions team at IBM which supported products that resulted in an annual revenue of
$1.2 Billion. Fareed graduated with a BS in Computer Science from the National University of
Computer and Emerging Sciences.

Aditya Thyagarajan, Co-Founder & President


Aditya is responsible for business, revenue growth, and client solutions. Most of his time is spent
launching HotelKey into different market segments and providing market feedback to the development
teams. Prior to HotelKey, Aditya spent ten years at Yardi Systems - a world leader in real estate and
asset management software. At Yardi Systems, he started as a programmer in 2005 and steadily moved
up within the organization. Aditya led development, implementation, and sales teams within the
company. He played a significant role in bringing a fully integrated single stack solution to the
Commercial Real Estate industry. As an avid sportsman, Aditya represented the USA Cricket Team
with distinction for many years. In 2000, he earned a BS in Computer Science from BMS College of
Engineering, Bangalore (India). He then went on to graduate with an MS in Computer Science from the
University of California, Santa Barbara in 2003.
