Introduction: (20 minutes)

Intro to aging and isolation:

● Definition of isolation
● Collaboration board on problems the elderly face
● Video on aging challenges
● Study aging challenges via Sway
(The Sway will be read aloud and discussed as a group for those who may have trouble understanding,
but the option will also be given to go through it at their own pace and click on links that dive deeper into
the content)
● Collaboration Board on how we can help

Activity: (20 minutes)

Students will make cards and write to people living in assisted living (creating pen pals). This way they
can implement what they have learned about the aging process and how to help those who may be living
alone.

Students will have access to a Sway document with ideas on what to write to their pen pals, card designs,
and how to make a pop up card if they choose to.

Wrap Up: (20 minutes)

Go over fair ideas as a class and ask for more ideas

Notes:
