2. Opening prayer
Almighty Father, the Source of all Good, we would like to express our sincerest appreciation for all the
things that You have given us. Thank you for the food that nourishes our body, clothes that keep us
warm, and shelter that protects us from the rain and the sun. We humbly pray for our family, relatives,
friends, the DLSZ Community, country, and the world to protect us from the COVID 19.
Bless us all with good health, happy relationships, and successful life. May we be able to be faithful to
You, to serve our country the best way we can, and to promote unity in our family and community. May
everyone accomplish all the year-end assigned tasks and requirements. May we be the source of love
and joy of other people especially our family and community. This we ask in Jesus name who is the Way,
the Truth, and the Life. Amen.

HABIT 7: SHARPENING THE SAW
In April, aside from the LCV: Competent, we also give emphasis to the Lasallian Leader in Me (LLIM)
Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw. Simply put, it means taking care of yourself. It also means self-improvement or
self renewal. It is having a balanced mindset especially in the five areas namely physical, social,
emotional, mental and spiritual. According to Dr. Stephen Harvey, author of the Seven Habits of Highly
Effective People, it is important to preserve and enhance your greatest assets.

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN APRIL LCV:COMPETENT AND LLIM HABIT 7: SHARPEN THE
SAW
The relationship between the LCV and LLIM habit is how you can handle all thing, In the LCV
we should be competent wherein we know what to do and how to handle all the things we
need to do. In the LLIM habit we should take care of ourself and making a balanced mindset
and being healthy in five different aspects
Look back at the ten months of your life as a Lasallian starting from July 2020 to April 2021. Assess all
your engagements and involvements in the school activities. For example, your participation in activities
like World Teachers’ Day and 42nd Vision Mission Week. How did you show your “competence” in those
ten months?
