The VIP-Area program is used for organizing data when measuring building quantities. It saves data in files that can be imported into the VIP-Energy program. General
The program is used for organizing data when measuring quantities. The data is saved in
mngd-files that can be imported to VIP-Energy.

The building part types have their own menu choices where the input data is to be typed. This
gives the user a general view of the input data that is easier to interpret than a table presenting
all the building part types at the same time.

In the lower part of the dialog window there is a group of tabs with compilations of the input
data
One of the menu choices contains a compilation that shows how data will be exported to VIP-
Energy.

The program immediately calculates all areas and presents a calculation.


There is no connection from VIP-Energy in to VIP-Area. VIP-Area contains no data from
start but only data from the user.

In the top left corner there are arrows that are used to step backward and forward among
performed operations.

Presentation of existing data in pop-up menus


Used names are presented in pop-up menus so that the user doesn´t have to re-write the
descriptions but can choose them from the list.

All descriptions that have been done with the commanding buttons under the list box are
found under Description for Building part type.

Method description
Amounts are added to the building part type under "Add to" and subtracted from the building
part type under "Subtract from". In the present case is 5,88 m2 of Wall type 1 facing south
replaced by Balcony. This approach is particularly rational when downgrading from Windows
and thermal bridges in facades.
Areas can be subtracted from the Facades, Windows, doors, vents, but not from 2D and 3D
construction parts.

Building part type properties

It is also possible to add other properties than quantity in order to not having to edit other data
in VIP-Energy every time the user is updating from a VIP-Area.

This data is found under Building part types properties.

By choosing a Building part description, building part type and orientation it is possible to
specify what compiled posts each property is to be valid for.
By choosing just an orientation the property is valid for all building parts with that
orientation.
By adding a building part type the property only is valid for that building part type with that
orientation.
The values further down in the list will overwrite those further up.

Scale factor
A scale factor has been added to the input data for those cases where the drawings are not
according to scale. The values of the input window have been measured while those in the list
box have been recalculated with consideration to the scale factor. In some cases when
modifying the user might want to lock the scale factor in order to keep it unchanged when
double clicking on input data to the input data window.

Compilation
The program compiles input-data from the dialogue boxes to as few input-data rows as
possible before data is reported to VIP-Energy.

Data is compiled to posts when description, orientation and building part type are
corresponding. Texts under Annotation are ignored in that compilation.

The left tab contains data imported to VIP-Energy.

The right tab shows sums of other data which makes controlling the input-data easier.
Checkboxes are used to control how to organize sums of window doors and vents.
