ABSTRACT

This study is focused in the effect of lacking of baking tools in laboratory of the Grade 11 TVL
C2 students which helps the students to know what would be the impact of lacking of baking
tools to their performance in baking.

This study attempted to answer the following questions:

1. What would be the effect to you as a student of TVL C2 if you are lacking of knowledge in
using the baking tools?

2. What would be the impact to you as a student of TVL C2 if the school laboratory is lacking of
tools in baking?

3. What are the struggles faced by you because of lacking of baking tools in school laboratory?
Give at least 3.

The 10 respondents of this study were the TVL C2 Grade 11 students of the school year 2019-
2020 of ANGELES CITY NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL- SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL
More over this research used the qualitative type of research.
The part of presentation tells the impact of lacking of baking tools to the TVL C2 Grade 11
students.
The finding of the study was based to the Grade 11 TVL C2 students opinion, thoughts, and idea
about the effect of lacking of tools in baking.
The evaluation results of TVL C2 students of (ACNHS- SHS) is very satisfactory based on their
own opinion, thoughts, and ideas about the questions that they answered. The conclusions were
draw that most of the students of Grade 11 TVL C2 in (ACNHS-SHS) knows the effect of
lacking of baking tools to their performance in baking.

Statement of the Problem

The general problem of the study is: What would be the effect to the TVL C2 students if the
school laboratory is lacking of baking tools.

1.The effect to the TVL C2 students if they're lacking of knowledge in using the baking tools.

2. The impact to the TVL C2 students if the school laboratory is lacking of tools in baking.

3. The struggles faced by the TVL C2 students because of lacking of baking tools in school
laboratory.

Scope and Delimitation

This study is focused in the effect of lacking of laboratory tools in baking of TVL C2
Senior High School students.

The research sample is composed of 10 Grade 11 TVL C2 students. The primary data gathering
method used was survey method to determine the Grade 11 TVL C2 students perspective about
the impact to them of lacking of baking tools based on their own opinion, thoughts and idea.

The Delimitation of this study involved the Grade 11 TVL C2 students from the corner of
Angeles City National High School- Senior High School (ACNHS-SHS).

This choice was made because of the group of this study and plan because the researchers of this
study collect data to the Grade 11 TVL C2 students that is needed for the research of this
semester more importantly the selection in Grade 11 TVL C2 was made because results can help
to know what would be the effect to the students if they are lacking of tools in baking.

The Delimitation concerned selection of the Grade 11 TVL Combo 2 students was matter
to convince.

CHAPTER II
THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK

Related Literature

When I started baking a few years ago I only had a few basic things and although I got to stock
up on baking equipment and ingredients quite a lot ever since, I still keep those basic around and
if I had to work it out without any extra equipment, I would manage with only these essential
baking tools. I find these to be a “must have” in the kitchen and to be totally honest with you,
lacking certain pieces of equipment forces you to get creative and improvise – you have no idea
how many things you can come up with to ease your job in the kitchen if you have to!

For a typical workman, his right equipment and tools is his main prodigy and that's quite true in
the bakery business too. Baking involves preparing cakes, cookies, muffins, tarts, scones, pies,
shortbreads and other baked goods delicious and appealing to the masses and so requires
different equipment for the same. Particularly for the business bakery, equipment are highly
sophisticated and commercialized as compared to those used in the houses and for other personal
purposes. With the high technological equipment, many tasks can be done in the shortest
possible time, as they give you an edge over others in this competition and bakery equipment can
complete the task for you in the shortest possible time with great quality.

Tools play an important role in Baking. As a beginner, it might be complex for you to know all
the essential tools for baking. When I started developing a passion for baking, I was not aware of
different baking tools and equipment and their uses. I wish somebody had given me a baking
essential checklist and helped me out. This is exactly what I will help you with. In this article, I
will talk about the essential baking tools for beginners and help you create your baking tool list.

Bakery equipment include those tools that are required for preparing baked goods properly, such
as pans, sheets, mixers, measuring tools, and so on. Read the article to know more about them.

“Bakery equipment generally includes all tools and machinery required by bakers to prepare
different food items like breads, cakes, pastries, pies, pizzas and so on”. Since most of the
equipment are usually one time investments, meticulous consideration is made in order to
purchase the best product on market.

CHAPTER III
METHODS OF DATA GATHERING/COLLECTION
Method and Techniques of the Study

This study utilized the qualitative research. Qualitative research focuses on people's thought,
beliefs, feelings, views, and lifestyle that requires non- numerical data.

This study administered the evaluation survey form and conducted test to 10 TVL C2 students
respondents.

After which, the results were collated to know what would be the effect to the TVL C2 students
if the school laboratory is lacking of baking tools.

Respondents and Participants

The concern of this study were the TVL C2 students of ANGELES CITY NATIONAL HIGH
SCHOOL - SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL and the randomly selected 10 TVL C2 students of the
mentioned school.

Data Gathering Procedure

A letter to Mrs. Leonora Z. Agustin OIC Assistant Principal II was sent for the purpose
of asking permission to give evaluation survey form and test to the Senior High School Students
of the school year 2019-2020. Using the pertinent documents the research personally distributed
the evaluation sheets and researchers made a test to student respondents which were randomly
selected by each section of strand TVL C2 at Angeles City National High School - Senior High
School (ACNHS-SHS).

The evaluation instrument was administered on the second week of February 17, 2020.
In reality it is reality it’s hard to do baking when you are lack of knowledge in using the tools in
baking and it’s also hard to bake when you don't have enough tools to use in baking.

CHAPTER IV
PRESENTATION, ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION OF DATA
This chapter presents analysis and interpretation of the data gathered for better understanding
according to the specific problems presented in chapter 1.

The following are the results of the interview for the TVL C2 students which were randomly
taken:

Question #1: What would be the effect to you as a TVL C2 student if you are lacking of
knowledge in using the baking tools?

Student 1: “student's sill not achieve the right and proper way of baking”.
Student 2: “For me, it'll be the hardest thing in life of grade 11. It'll take too much effort and
time for me to be able to get familiarize with the tools so that means, I may be the student who
will always be outdated one just because of me lacking knowledge”.
Student 3: “If i am lacking of knowledge as a student of TVL C2, I maybe failed to my baking
subject”.
Student 4: “I will study more on how to use the baking tools in order for me to have
knowledge”.
Student 5: “It is hard because when you are measuring an ingredients you don't know what tools
you will use”.
Student 6: “The ingredients in baking will be wasted”.
Student 7: “I don't know what will I do when we're baking because I don't have any idea about
those tools”.
Student 8: “If I don't have knowledge in using baking tools I can't bake properly and also I'm not
sure if my bake is correct that's why we need to know the uses of all the tools for baking”.
Student 9: “There are things that we cannot use because of lack of knowledge on what's the
purpose of those tools”.
Student 10: “If you don't have knowledge on how to use the tools in baking we cannot bake
properly and we don't know what to do when it comes to baking”.

Question #2: What would be the impact to you as TVL C2 student if the school laboratory is
lacking of tools in baking?

Student 1: ”If it is not enough we can't know what's the name of the tools and we don't know
how to use it”.
Student 2: ”Sad to say we cannot bake properly because the tools are not enough”.
Student 3: ”For me the impact is the time management because if all the students are baking at
the same time they can't bake properly because the tools are not complete”.
Student 4: “I will have hard time to bake because it's hard to bake when you don't have enough
tools”.
Student 5: “They will have a hard time to bake because they are lacking of tools and it's also
hard to find alternative foods in baking”.
Student 6: “It is hard when you don't have enough tools in laboratory because it is just wasting
our time when you don't know what tools you will use as a substitute for a certain tool.
Student 7: “I will be more patient in able for me to learn”.
Student 8: “I will ask the teacher or the principal if it is okay for them to provide tools because it
is vet important to have tools in baking”.
Student 9: “It will never be easy. As a student we needed some explanation that will let us easily
understand such works. So if the school laboratory is lacking of tools, or I rather we, the students
will have so much hard time because we don't have enough thought about such things”.
Student 10: “The student may lack of knowledge about it”.

Question #3: What are the struggles faced by you because of lacking of baking tools in school
laboratory?

Student 1: “We cannot do hands- on the activity”.


Student 2: “I feel like I am so outdated”.
Student 3: “Don't know what to do when it comes to baking”.
Student 4: I will not know the other ways in baking”.
Student 5: “Waste of time”.
Student 6: “Cannot bake properly”.
Student 7: “It gives me a hard time”.
Student 8: “Don't know how to use the other tools”.
Student 9: “Affects our skills in baking”.
Student 10: “Having a hard time to find a substitute for a certain tool. It is reflected in the
answers of the respondents that they can't bake properly when they are lacking of tools in baking.
It is a waste of time for students to find a alternative tools in baking. It is also reflected that they
are having a hard time on how to use those tools in baking when they are lacking of knowledge
in using the tools in baking. Most of them says that they need to have enough tools in baking in
able them to learn and perform baking properly”. 6

CHAPTER V
FINDINGS, CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Findings

The findings of the study are as follows:

1. Based on the TVL C2 students evaluation result, they cannot perform baking properly when
they don't know what are the tools they are going to use because of lack of tools in school
laboratory even if they want to see and to know how to use those tools they can't have the
opportunity because the school laboratory is lacking of tools in baking.

2. The evaluation result is excellent because with this study the researchers had the opportunity
to know the opinion, and thoughts of the TVL C2 students about the effect to them if they don't
have the enough tools in baking.

3. The evaluation result about the struggles faced by the TVL C2 students because of lacking of
tools in baking was "good".

Conclusions

In the light of analysis and the findings of the study the following conclusions was drawn:

The lack of tools in baking is hard for the TVL C2 students.

1. It was find out that lacking of tools in baking is leading the TVL C2 students to cannot
perform well in baking.

2. Having enough tools in baking is a big help to the TVL C2 students because it able them to
bake more delicious and creative baked 7

Recommendations

In the light of the insight gained in the study the following recommendations are laid down:
1. Based on the respondents evaluation results. The school laboratory is lacking of tools in
baking. Therefore, the school (ACNHS - SHS) should request or provide more baking tools.

2. The evaluation result of the TVL C2 student was they cannot bake properly because of lack of
knowledge in using the baking tools. Therefore, the student should search or watch a video to
at least lessen their curiosity about on how to use those certain tools in baking.

3. The TVL C2 students should be more passionate on baking in able them to be more
determined in performing baking.

CHAPTER 1
BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

Introduction
The chosen topic was the effects of lacking of laboratory tools in baking which is one
of the most important in baking.

Baking is a process of cooking by dry heat, especially in some kind of oven. It is probably the
oldest cooking method. Bakery products, which include bread, rolls, cookies, pies, pastries and
muffins, are usually prepared from flour or meal derived from some form of grain.

In order to do baking we need to have an essential and enough tools in baking.

Tools in baking are important because when you have the right baking tools, you feel at ease and
stay focus on preparing a baked products.

In any project, half the battle is having the right and enough tools. If you enjoy baking, that
means not only have the bake ware utensils, but also knowing the proper care and storage of
these items so that they last longer and provide better results.

TVL C2 involves baking so having enough tools in baking makes the student more inspired to
bake.

Lacking of tools in baking may leads the students to have lack of knowledge to use the baking
tools, Yes they are learning something but it’s important to the students on how to use the baking
tools for able them to apply it in their profession.

This research is important because students cannot absorb properly the lesson without applying it
and without knowing how to use those tools in baking.

Having enough tools make the students more inspired and well determined to bake and to pursue
their passion in baking.
